Lost Treasure Mission : Cannot Open The Chest At The End

I have played Borderlands 2 at least 25 times, and I NEVER been able to open the chest at the very end of the mission... the {bad word} chest just will not open.

And, since I am playing it on Steam (duh!) I cannot just restore a previous save, because that is not how Steam works.

Sooo.... PLEASE tell me how I can open the {bad word} chest at the conclusion of the mission?

It is available in the same place each time you reload and revisit the Caustic Caverns.
It's just a regular red chest, you're not missing out on anything if you can;t open it, you'll get your quest reward (Dahlminator) either way.

I just googled it - seems that you need to save/quit and reenter the area.

It's glitched.

CRAP CRAP CRAP..... yeah, I *just* did it.....
I had to run to the destination again, fighting my a$$ there, yet again, but I FINALLY opened the chest.

Heh. Most likely. But one of my current batch of levelers picked up a Legendary Soldier mod there (Normal). First time I have ever seen anything remotely decent in that chest. Good thing it was an Axton, so able to use it :)

Not so for me although I did have to fight my way back (no biggie). Choose Quit, then do not Save an Quit goes back to the start then made my way to the chest again, opens as expected. Guns and ammo, nothing special but better than a grenade mod🤣
