The Blockhead
So, i've always loved the Blockhead shotgun, probably my favorite gun in the game. Always used in on Maya and Gaige, as those are my vault hunters i usually play, and kinda sad i don't see more people giving the gun some love. Highly reccomend it if anyone hasn't tried it yet :)
Recently picked up Axton to give him a go, and my god he wrecks stuff with the Blockhead.
I am not sure, so i wanted to check if anyone knows this, but is the splash damage boosted by grenade damage boost from Axtons skills and class mods?

I agree that it is a very good and underappreciated shotgun. I think that most people just think about the gear that they see their favorite Youtuber use.

Elemental splash damage should be boosted by matching elemental relics.

I think the grenade damage boost would apply to something like the swordsplosion maybe? This I am unsure of. It would not apply to say a maliwan smg or sniper. I could be wrong though.

Only the Hellfire and Volcano get boosted by grenade damage aswell as all Maliwan Pistols.
Blockhead SHOULD get boosted aswell afaik.

I also really love the Blockhead. It's amazingly powerful and versatile because of it's bouncing projectiles and how the split works.

Does splash damage count as grenade damage, mechanically speaking? Asking because im not sure. Could be. I mean the attacks from the sawblade technical count as melee attacks, so it wouldnt be unprecedented.

I haven't done extensive research on this topic. I think it varies. Some splash damage seems to be calculated as gun damage.
Mayas Reaper only boosts gun damage which also effects some guns splash but not all.

Ss most splash in general should be calculated as grenade damage with a few exceptions like Maliwan Snipers (excluding the Volcano and Storm) and SMGs (again, excluding the Hellfire).

Thanks guys. Really not sure myself either about what counts as grenade damage, and what counts as just splash damage. I should try some testing on the test dummy and see if mods and skills boost it probably. Just found it funny that a Blockhead that was 10-12 levels below the enemies one-shot shielded enemies in TVHM, and two shots badas* enemies with no shield :)

I know someone who might know for sure. I will ask him the next time he is online.

The blockhead is listed and does get boosted by grenade damage.

Interesting list. So there's more exceptions than I thought.
I'm a bit surprised by the number of Torgue guns not recieving grenade damage boosts.
Makes the Boom Puppy and Landscaper even worse, lol.

It specifically lists non red text torgue weapons in some categories. I find that odd.

Yeah, the whole "Grenade" and "Explosive" damage thing can be confusing. It doesn't help that some guns randomly get the boost and some don't, and then you have certain Maliwan weapons that count as splash damage, some that don't, and the introduction of E-Tech guns, etc.

For example, some Torgue guns get different Splash damage based on the base damage. Sometimes the splash amounts to 100% of the weapon damage (the number shown in the weapon card), and some only 90%. I wish there was a definitive list about this somewhere, and there probably is, since it is a LOT of info and variations/exceptions.

Thanks for the link mate. Really helped alot.
And yea, it's kinda weird what gets boosted and what's not getting boosted. Video game logic i guess :steamfacepalm:

Thanks! Now I have a new weapon to farm for my Axton!

I love using it on Hellborn Krieg. With a nice Torch/Legendary Psycho class mod it's pretty good for mobbing.
