Border Lands 2 no sound (FIXED)

Alright before anyone says anything; it's been 5 years since the game came out and my cousin gifted me the game to play with him. First time installing the game worked fine but after a week we stopped playing and the game took up space so I uninstalled. Months later he wanted to play the game again and so I installed it and the little startup menu gave me sounds but after I press the Play button the sounds just stopped coming through. I've tried reinstalling for the third time and even checking updates/files that haven't came through but to no avail.

It's just BL2 and none of my other steam games. I've tried everything that I could think of to solve this problem from in-game options, to volume mixer and playback devices, to even searching online for any answers but none that worked for me. I don't know much about laptops/computer parts if I'm gonna be honest with you but just know that I have an MSI gaming laptop with a NVIDIA GTX960M if that means anything, so it can't possibly be my laptop that's causing the problem?

Again, the startup screen that offers me the options: help, settings, play and then the borderlands 2, has sounds. It's once I press play, then the audio and sounds disappear.

I'm trying to be as specific and sorry if it's too much but this is a current problem 5 years later and I just want other people who are having the same problems as me to find this and possibly help them out too.

Edit Fixed sorta?: The problem was my headset. I have the Razor Kraken 7.1 Chroma and whenever I play with the headset it seems to shut off ingame sounds. Like I said however, this is only happening with Borderlands 2 and no other games. Is there a way to fix this? I've read that deleting Razor synapse could work but I just want to know if there's any other way. thanks you

(Solution for me) What my friend told me to do was to go into my task manager and end task "Kraken Helper". Now it doesn't exactly say Kraken Helper but it's got Helper in it. Idk Why it disables in-game audio but it worked for me without having to delete synapse or anything. Hope this helps :)

If you have the Razer Synapse software installed, uninstall it.

For me if I do Skype first and then Borderlands 2, there is sound. The other way around, no sound.

Also if I'm in-game and using headphones (Skype or no) and unplug, there is no sound till I leave and re-enter the game.

No idea why, but hey, I can work around it.

Do you have an idea to as why my Razor Synapse could cause this? Is there any other way? Because I like the synapse and I don't want to get rid of it if there's any other way but if it'll cause me more problems in the future then I might as well get rid of it.

I don't know exactly why it causes problems, but what you can try is uninstall it and then reinstall it. If the sound problem persists even after the reinstall, I suppose you'll have to get rid of it completely and try alternatives like MiniSynapse.

guys i actually found a real solution to this
i had the same problem with the forest game so how it is done,
1.open task managaer
2.end task program name sonic suite
3.enjoy ur game
so those who with high knowledge care to explain?? cause i got this solution from internet but no explanation

I have an Asus GL503V, i had the exact same problem with borderlands 2 and world war z (both downloaded from Epic) and this was exactly what i had to do. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
