Best Weapon For The Warrior ?
Greetings -

I finally beat Handsome Jack. Now I am in the subsequent battle with The Warrior of which I believe I am woefully underquipped. I am at level 31. I have tried various tactics; remaining behind the shield and peppering, hiding in a corner within the shield and peppering, running back and forth between ammo\loot boxes, etc. but all of these tactics are time consuming and I end up making a costly mistake after some time anyway.

So, what is the best combination of weapons and tactics to beat The Warrior? Thanks for any helpful replies.

When you first enter the Vault of the Warrior, there's a chest hidden off the egde of the map hidden by a lavaflow before the elevator leading to the vending machines. This chest is the best quality, and you can farm it by getting it, and reloading.

This can get you as many weapons around level 30 as your want before the fight.

You don't mention your class, so it's hard to give specific recommendations for gear.

For instance, the infinity pistol works for Zero believe it or not, especially if you are farming the Warrior. The lack of need for ammo is nice.

Strategy-wise, one place you may wish to fight from is near one of the regenerating ammo crates. After exiting the elevator and passing the vending machines, jump down to the Warrior's lair. Continue straight along the elevated walkway to its end. When you jump down, the Warrior will spawn.

Now head to the left and follow the pathway that leads to a semi-covered spot with a replenishing ammo crate at its end. That spot protects you from rakks and from most of the Warrior's attacks. The ammo crate can be used to of course replenish your stock should you need.

The main thing you need to stay on top of are the crystalisks that spawn just outside of this sheltered spot, say every 30 seconds or so. Stay under the archway cover, take them down when they appear (they are your priority), then focus on the Warrior.

Remember that with the Warrior, its weak spots are its mouth, but even better is its chest and just behind its armpits. Do enough damage to an armour plate there and you break it, allowing higher damage to be done by focusing on its wound.

When too much damage has been received the Warrior will jump back into the lava (raising its level) to heal its armour; this is typically when the crystallisks appear. When the Warrior reappears, the lava level drops and....rinse and repeat.

The warrior can also be slagged although he doesn't show it. So if you have a slag weapon I suggest using it.

if you hit his crit spots with a fire weapon he dies very quickly (they appear a pulsing red/orange) strategy wise run to the edge of the drop and spawn the warrior, quickly run back to the exit portal, stay there and shoot the warrior until it dies, yiou are virtually invulnerable in this spot so any weapon can be used against the warrior.just keep an eye on the crystalisks as the sometimes throw crystals at you.

He's resistant to fire.

As [OMEGA]ShatterPoint indicated, the Warrior is resistant to fire damage - he jumps in the lava to heal.

The spot you describe, while viable, is far from invulnerable. You are unprotected from rakks, crystalisks from a distance that often can't be killed without leaving your spot, and from the Warrior's throw attacks. Having tried both, the spot I described is a better choice. Try it.
I use a sandhawk and a bee shield
