There are a few other modded guns that pass the sanity check, such as the trick shot inifinity, or blue rarity legendary class mods.
As for modded guns by the community patch: these are regular guns. When the host has the patch active, they become modded. No patch active on host side of the game = regular gun.
I'm pretty sure I'm not carrying any modded guns around, there I don't accept weapons/items from strangers, only from friends who I trust with the question "is it legit?".
