Why is Zer0 half-stalker?

Is he an experiment? Did he inject himself with stalker DNA? Did the hyperion corporation make him? Or...did some other character look at a stalker and say "i'd tap that..." which probably isn't unlikely in Borderlands.

Is there some reason people think he's a stalker, rather than a cyborg or something? His outfit is called his "sneak suit" so I figured that's why he can turn invisible. He doesn't become visible when his shield drops, like stalkers do. I don't get it.

There's some good evidence for why, mainly:
1: He only has four fingers on each hand and only two toes, and stalkers have only two toes.
2: He can go invisible at will, just like a stalker.
3: You never, ever, ever, see his face, presumably because he has something disfigured to hide.
4: He only seems capable of speaking in haiku or otherwise short dialoague, likely because he never developed more braod communication skills.
5: Other characters question whether Zer0 is human

They could, but the combination of all of them points to a stalker being the most likely.

I think that's too interpretive for the time being, because we don't really know if the designers were being sarcastic or not, they have all kinds of random names for skins.

zer0 can't possibly be half stalker because stalkers can only become invisible so long as their shield is up; zer0 can become invisible even while his shield is down


and even then, how could a human (i would assume that's zer0's other half in the theory) interbreed with a stalker? even if human and stalker DNA were somehow artificially mixed in an experiment or something, it would lead to a whole slew of problems with zer0's physiological structure.

Dude they have technology to bring people back to life in this fantasy world as well fuse their DNA with slag and all kinds of stuff, obviously it's possible.

It is possible he was constructed, but he wouldn't really need a mask then would he? And hyperion spies clearly have inferior invisiblity technolgy, you can see them pretty clearly, but you can't see a stalker or Zer0 hardly as well or at all.
