How to "trigger" the Japanese Version?

I got the japanese steam copy sent as a gift by a friend, and yet it doesn't play as it should (japanese intro and ending song for Rockman 8 are the ones from english version). How does steam "trigger" the locale of it to work?

The intro I know, but I can't trigger the ending.

Yeah I'm not sure about that.

Tried renaming the files in the resource folder since it's probably got both English and Japanese endings.

Discovered this today when researching japanese websites:

The only way to play the full japanese version (with the songs) is having a japanese native language Windows AND playing it from Japan (game detects your IP, maybe that's why it's online only). Has to be both conditions.

Maybe it's possible to do something about it when (if) the zip password is discovered by someone.

dafuq? Just change the language in your menu to Japanese.

Just changing the language to Japanese, does not enable the licensed music.

Hey, we can get "Brand New Way" on game credits or Music Player (not both), and japanese voice over Mega Man 8, just follow the guide:

Thanks buddy, I remember trying that too, and as you said, it doesn't make things perfect because there's no Staffroll song after Brand New Way stops playing AND the credits still show Megaman 8 instead of Rockman 8. That workaround only changes the song. We can't get Rockman 8 ending to work perfectly around here, the ENDING and ENDING_EN doesn't change anything, sadly.

Yeah, to make thinks perfectly japanese, we really have to gain total acess to the disc file.

I found a way to make it play Electrical Communication without renaming the files: Change your Windows' Main Display Language to Japanese (Just changing the System Locale to Japanese won't cut it, i have confirmed it now), the Steam Language to Japanese, and the Download Region to Tokyo

But if you have Windows 10/11 Home Single Language, you will have to re-install Windows 10/11 in Japanese From Scratch
