Suggestion: Add an option to only skip read text
After I happened to get the 3 good endings during my first playthroughs (I don't think there are more?), I started looking for the remaining bad endings.

I noticed that most of the story is the same independent of which options you pick to get certain bad endings.
Since there's no option to only skip read text, the player is forced to either reread most of the story again, or skip all text and potentially miss out on some subtleties.

I feel that adding this feature (which is a common standard for VNs) would greatly improve the player experience.

Though it's been quite some time since the game has been localized (and even longer since it has been first released), so it'd be understandable if it's not worth the effort to make changes to the source code at this point in time.

This feature seems to have since been added; however I noticed that skipping won't be allowed in a specific scene that was partially a new route (there's 2-3 occurences of this in the game), but as soon as the little cat-thing in the right corner loads, you can once again skip, and the game will halt at the newest piece of text.

Okay, I'm confused, because that doesn't match what I know / experienced:
  • This visual novel doesn't seem to have received any updates since the Steam release, and certainly not after I finished reading it.
  • I see no option to choose whether to skip all text, or only to skip read text. Unless it's labeled incorrectly.
    (for the record, I turned off "Text skip mode after a choice", but that shouldn't affect whether unread text is skipped)
  • I remember that I used the skip function to reach 2 of the last missing endings (should have been Accomplices and All Alone, after I reached all other endings except for The Seven Mysteries). The game didn't stop until I reached the credits / ending screen, so it skipped over new text that I hadn't read yet.
    (I did this to check whether those choices lead to alternate endings, then I took my time to actually read those routes)

Looks like there are even more mysteries after finishing the VN. :xmei:

hm, I see. I mean, all I can say is that it worked for me; I didn't click on any options to activate this (my menu states that text skip mode after a choice is turned to off, which I guess is default?). The order in which I got the endings was:

Trigger, An Old Memory, With Memories, All Alone, Accomplices, The Seven Mysteries, Allegory

And I definitely know that I used the skip function, which halted all on its own when hitting the new text of All Alone and Allegory, one stops a bit around the time where you split up to look for blonde girl, the other stops in the basement when blonde girl asks you a different question to what she would ask during All Alone .

I'm sure it worked in the other instances too, just don't remember the exact parts where the text stopped.

I really wonder why it worked in my case and not in yours if it can't be the game being updated. Weird ^^;

In windowed mode, maybe check if you have any of the windowed options checkmarked? Specifically System->Skip after choice (though like you said: I fail to see how this could affect you).
