System Requirements & Known Issues [Updated 5/29]
Hey everyone, I have seen some conversations about people having issues with performance on PC. One thing we've seen is turning off vsync tends to resolve this issue. That being said, make sure you meet our min system specs. If you do and are still experiencing issues, please reach out to us at http://support.greybox.com

System Requirements:
Minimum:
OS: Windows 7 64-Bit
Intel Core i5 2310 2.9 GHz / AMD FX-6300
Memory: 4 GB Ram
Graphics: GTX 550 Ti 1GB/Radeon 6950 1GB or better
Storage: 7400 MB available space

Recommended:
OS: Windows 10 64-bit
Processor: Intel i5 3570k / AMD FX-8350
Memory: 8 GB Memory
Graphics: GTX 770 2GB / Radeon R9 280X 3GB or better
Storage: 7400 MB available space

-RiME Does not support Crossfire
-If you disconnect a USB headset and reconnect it the audio will not resume playing through the headset.
-21:9 Aspect ratio may not display specific aspects of the game correctly.
-Windows taskbar is present when launching game in borderless display mode
-Bringing up the Steam overlay prevents using the Voice action on a controller.
-Bringing up the Steam overlay during the splash animations will cause audio/video desync
-RiME will initialize VR hardware on startup if it is connected to the PC. This can impact performance.
-Disabling Super Sampling Anti-Aliasing has helped some users resolve performance issues (Confirmed on some NVidia 1080s). Use FXAA or TXAA instead.
-Setting VSync to Double Buffering and running in Fullscreen has helped some users resolve performance issues (Confirmed on Nvidia 980, 970)
-Shadows and lighting are dynamic RiME. Reducing shadow quality has helped some users resolve performance issues.
- Deleting the folder RiME\Engine\Binaries\ThirdParty\OpenVR will prevent SteamVR from launching when loading RiME.

minimum settings 24 fps.
Where is the optimization?

You're playing the wrong genre of game if you want optimization. This game favors physically based rendering, which will utterly destroy your GPU. All of these puzzle games like The Witness, Talos Principle, etc. are moving this direction.

For future reference, look for games that use Enlighten[www.geomerics.com] ... and AVOID them until you get a better GPU. Denuvo has no impact on performance, but this lighting middleware is the kiss of death.

im having a major issue.
i finished the windmill section...creating thunderstorms...finished that section, followed the fox into the new dungeon. turned off the game.
but now every time i want to continue my progression the game crashes/freezes during the loading screen.
every time.
every single time.
loading screen. and the color spiral freezes halfway and the game and my pc freezes during loading screen.
total freeze of application.
i cant advance. and i have to reboot my pc every time because i lose all control of my pc.
i thought maybe the game files were corrupted so i uninstalled and reinstalled the game.
same thing keeps happening.
how fix?
i have a geforce gtx 1050 ti.
windows 7
i had no problems playing the game before. progressing to this point. only issue is loading this new area.
i think i may have to start the game from the very beginning because i decided to install the game on a new pc to see if it would work. the load.
and it loads the game on this different pc but its loading me in a previous checkpoint.
its not loading me where i last left off which is after beating the bird with the storm generating windmills. its loading me much prior to that. its loading me to where i first enter the dungeon where i have to yell at the blue lights and vases. that area.
i think i may have to restart from the very beginning. i really dont want to have to give the game a negative review. because i was loving the game up till this serious bug.

It worked just fine for me for the first 3 hours, I just passed the underwater riddles and am in that big room with several statues, standing in a circle.
Now it's an absolute stuttering mess :/ and is pretty much unplayable at this point.
I have no idea why.
It worked great before and I have changed absolutely nothing, neither on my computer or the game settings.
I bought this game and I have no efing sound!!!!! and there's no patch to fix this issue!!! did someone fix this?
Hey there @Cb4ss, I am sorry you're having issues with sound. Can you reach out to our CS team? http://support.greybox.com - they should be able to assist you!

Hello, I detected that the issue was the hdmi cable conected to my tv. For some odd reaon, the sound doesn't work on the tv ( have my laptop connected to my tv through a hdmi cable) but once I change and set my sound settings to my laptop speakers on windows 10 , it worked just fine. Anyway, not that a big issue, I think the problems is my sound card and not one from the game per se, although I don't have this same issue with other games from my library which is very weird. Maybe you should check that out. Thanks for you help!

Turn off supersampling, it will kill your GPU at 4K.

Turn off SSAO
7700K + GTX 980
Will the game run at least 60fps with proper settings or should I just refund and not waste my time?

I thought the game looked good and all but I'm not gonna spend 45 minutes fixing sh*t that the devs refuse to update or patch because they already cashed out and left the game to rot aka "we started a new project"
Hitman,

Hi, thanks for taking interest in RiME. To start though, there is no reason to be rude, so lets put that aside. Our teams have released multiple patches to improve performance issues, but if you do come across any issues, I would recommend reaching out to our support team at http://support.greybox.com.

Thanks!

~Tim
I installed this game on a amd 8320 with a gtx970. Default settings, runs fine. A gift to my nephew.
