It could be worse, a lot worse. Instead of adding any free content updates, they could add new skins for buildings that do nothing, but cost a good $20 a pop. Then have thousands of them. Kinda like the DOA games do. DOA the gold standard of how to ripoff the consumer.

My only problem with these updates is that they take an age (a good 30 minutes to an hour to be specific) to install. And this is the only game that takes that long. I mean what the hell!? That's a long time just for a patch.

You have my understanding as developers. It's not your fault.

But I highly disagree on "the best interest of all consumers around the world in mind". I've heard that before. Those are the usual ctrl+v prefab corporate replies.

Once again, I'm not against you as developers, I'm against Kalypso's pricing policy changes. Basically I'm being asked to pay for a DLC, for what I paid for the full deluxe game (if not more).

If Kalypso wants me to believe that pricing a single DLC for this game between 3 to 5 times the cost of an indie game (take the escape simulator for example, 180 ARS) is fair and aims toward the best interest of consumers, I'm also eager to let them know that ain't happening.

it's funny but I just wrote a review about this problem.
So I know also the prices and somebit about the gameindustry. Cause i know very much devs, and publishers. And I also helped dozens of indies, wile i worked for a small indiedev.

And I also know the problem you are talking about. Let me explain some stuff (With my bad english skill)

I totally understand you, about your problem and opinion.

Problem:
German devs, and publisher have some kind of a pricebias. Their dlc's or games often have less content compared to int. products.

Reason:
Their products are often expensiver, and the problem is ,that a customer does not care if a dev/publisher has to pay 50% taxes + 30% fee to Steam or if a publisher/dev has to pay 9% tax and 30% fee you know?

But the reality is, that a devloper/publisher has to pay this.

And let's make a sample: The old devs had with tropico 4/5 tax costs from 9% now it's 12% or 16% cause bulgaria is cheap for devs. And on top before 30% fee to valve. The new devs have to pay 50% and before this 30% to valve, and that's not all. In germany you have the second highest energy prices in the world, and the food is way expensiver as in some other countries.

Yes, this is no excuse that german devs sometimes offer less content in der dlc's, cause a normal customer does not care about taxes or whatever, but it's a small insight, and I hope you can understand the problem.

And hopefully you can understand that a german dev/publisher is not able to compete easily with int. devs. Not even in europe. The germangoverment is working on the problem, and we may see less taxes for digital industries in the future. And more help for them. But actually it's not the case.

Btw: I totally understand you. If you would say: okay, I am a int. customer, and i do not care if the taxes in one country way is higher as in others. That's understandable, somehow, but maybe you will also understand the problem.

Cause it's a problem but it's not coming from devs, or kalypso. The problem is our goverment. Iam german too;)


Additional info: The basegame had a lot content compared to the old tropico games!

P.S.: No, seriously, the only thing that matters in this game is space efficiency. This is why I don't get who uses mansions.

This update was mediocre at best, not sure if most will feel the effect of this update but it's better than no update 🤷‍♂️

Thanks for the free update! Also, can we get Pollination Parcel (Pineapple) to work on Hydroponic Plantations? It's pretty much pointless to use that upgrade after modernizing. Or alternatively, add a new upgrade for Hydroponic Pineapple Plantation.

Still no Apple Silicon support, especially M1 Max. 👎
