Why do mods randomly stop working right?
When playing Skyrim SE I have ran into pretty irritating problems where I don't have to touch anything in my mod folder since my last time playing, but the mods just randomly decide to stop ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ working. Why does this happen? I make sure I run it SKSE and I deploy my mods as well as run the FNIS before starting.

I literally don't even have to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ touch ANYTHING since my last time playing and it just decides to stop working. It was working fine last time I played, but I just went ahead and wanted to chill and play it some more yet it gives me issues with the mods working properly. Seriously what the hell causes this ♥♥♥♥? It's annoying!

Names? What mods? What load order? How are you starting the game? Did you disable updates?

Just to name some possible leads.

Well for starter Amazing Follower Tweaks decided to randomly stop working today, I can't fix it by just re-installing it. The spell doesn't show up to make an NPC your follower.

You can have a "stable" build and manage to have problems creep up months later of which can either be hard or nearly impossible to debug if they are inconsistent. Been modding skyrim since 2014 & the only time I got SE truly stable was when it first came out & those morons at Bethesda hadn't done all the Creation Club BS. After they did, the longest stable game I had lasted 4 weeks. Heck Oldrim was even more stable than SE, but then Windows 10 came out.
That doesn't really help my issue I am having, you are just ranting about stuff. I am not looking for rants, I am looking for some help on how to deal with this problem with the Amazing Follower Tweaks thing and a technical reason why the mods sometime do this as well as maybe some suggestions of how to fix it.

I am sorry if you are dissatisfied with the game, but your rant doesn't really help me with my problem. It's useless to the issue I am asking for some help with. If you have a suggestion of how to fix this or maybe if you know the technical reason for this problem that seems to happen sometimes, I wouldn't mind reading it though.

There is no real "activate / stop" mechanism on mods, except for mods that require initialization through MCM.

This sounds to me that paths are being lost for some reason. External hard drive could be one possible reason.

Which mod manager you are using? Have you checked there that paths are actually pointing to correct location? I once had an issue, where I had updated my mod manager and it persistently wanted to swap my profile path under default C:\ location, until I updated the path at manager. It initially detected my mods being present, but running the manager tried to grab them from C:\ instead from G:\ drive.

Homie if you want help, we are going to need your load order to start. What mod manager are you using?

Name names. Otherwise I will just assume you are one of THOSE people (you know which people I am talking about right? You don't want to be one of THEM right?).

Go ahead an assume whatever dude, it's not like anything you think carries any weight. You're just another pebble in the pond after all.

I hate arguing about arguing; but lets take it one more level down. If i am a pebble (I disagree with this, if anything I am the stench of a decaying frog on the edge of the pond baking in the later summer afternoon, but back to your pebble metaphor).

Pebbles are not weightless, they have mass, that mass is affected by gravity. That pebble displaces water in a similar mass. Every pebble in the pond therefore alters the pond in a little way. So what you are saying is....I matter?

Thank you. Your opinion means every thing to me.

Nice way to derail a thread ....

Have you tried installing it manually? Are you using Vortex or another mod manager? Did you go to Nexus and re-download? I haven't used Amazing follower Tweaks for a minute, but deleting it entirely and changing the way I applied the mod seemed to help when it got finicky.

I'd also recommend going to Nexus and going to the mod's page, (whichever mod you're having trouble with) then look at the forum tab for it. Most people already ask these questions and get help over there.

I have a similar issue with SkyUI on a NEW install of the game on a new computer. I have SKSE 64 running fine, but SkyUI simple does not activate, and next time I load my save game, the game asks if I am sure I want to load my save game WITHOUT SkyUI?
The only way I was able to get it to work is to add the BSA file to my INI file. But then inventory would take 4 seconds to open. I even unpacked the BSA but that did not help.
EDIT: I only have around 12 or so mods active.

Try reinstalling the mod in question. I don't what mod organizer you are using, but even with mod organizer 2 there is a chance that the actual installation folder for an individual mod can become corrupted.
