should I buy this if I own the original skyrim?
I own skyrim on pc without any dlc, is it worth getting the special edition, also worth noting the original skyrim runs poorly on my modern gaming pc due to some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with the cpu cores and from what ive seen from benchmarks on youtube this will run fine on my pc, so what do you guys who have bought the game think? any input would be appreciated. thanks

Sadly bethesda didn't even try to fix any of the issues that oldrim had but thanks to modders. The modders used their skills to improve the game. Plus SSE has all the DLCs. I have over 1.3k+ hours on sse. Prettyyy damnn worth it.\

If you got a strong rig to use loads of mods, get the game right now!

I would get it just for the dlc alone

a lot of mods require some or all features from dlc so id get it. plus not gonna lie the first playthrough of the dlc's is pretty fun.

Most definitely worth it. See, you can buy SE for a price that's way below the price for all three individual DLC combined.

So not only do you get all DLC for a nice discount, you'll also get a better optimized version of the game, win-win. Just make sure you're using somewhat modern hardware (64bit) and you should be good.

Highly depends. Do you mod, at all? If so, yes, get this game and use it instead. It is much more stable in general and receptive to modification.

If not, do you have the DLCs for the original game? If you do, probably not worth buying this. But if you don't, I'd say Special Edition is worth the price.

Oldrim is 32 bit and yes it has issues running on modern PCs.
SE is 64 bit and runs much smoother on modern PCs. Plus, all the DLC comes with it.
SE is the way to go.

I don't remember buying Special Edition. Doesn't it get given automatically to anyone who owns the old original edition? I got the original around 11/11/2011, and then one day about 4 or 5 years ago this was sitting in my game library. Was that just a limited time offer?

Yes, it looks far better then the original.

I'm always amazed how much better a game can look just by adjusting the lighting

To be fair, they did a little more than that. I could see noticable difference with the side-by-side comparisons. Heck, even without them I could see a difference (for once).

That's debatable, i always found Skyrim much softer than SE and i had my Skyrim looking pretty good.

Yeah i know its not a screenshot comp, but i had to do a bit of tweaking to get SE looking not so harsh and a bit softer like Skyrim.

Skyrim runs fine in Windows7, (which is why i kept 7) and my 8600K, so don't know what cores has to do with anything.
