Primaris Intercessors kinda lacking?
They have the same armament as regular tac marines, one less model, and more health. So are they just a tankier tactical with less damage? Given how combat works I the more damage backed by an apothecary seems better to me.

They have 1 more armor piercing but otherwise yes they are just tacticals with 1 less model, but more health.

Sadness. I was hoping they'd have some niche to fill

they are much tankier than basic marines with one AP more on top, at the cost of one less model.
none of the new infs can use melta bombs, and they all suffer from the devs way of balancing units not by cost but by model number.
the new vehicles on the other side give some nice new option. make me spitout more from that building than before.

Yeah, the new tank in particular is fantastic. Good damage and it can carry a thunderer for repairs.

Primaris are lacking? Must be a day ending in Y.
And they don't even get melta bombs

So this DLC adds a bunch of units to space marines only?

Considering that the only main benefit of intercessors that actually translates to this game is that they're carrying better guns... Somehow worse for damage with ranged attacks. No grenades. Complete waste of research and resources.

Some of the units in this game are just bizarre. It's not like they're just a bit under powered. Completely worthless unit. Another unit that needs modding.
That said the tank is strong. Some of the other like interceptors are kind of good. They don't need their grenades as such.

They are able to carry Krak and Frag grenades, but not melta bombs which makes them even worse than the basic squad

I was mistaken. Still not worth using. I looked at them in compendium and never even researched them. What was that little update they did?

Primaris infantry is fine -- hardly worth the effort of researching. But their vehicles are indeed ULTIMA. Early on, the ATV and speeder are a load of fun... but the main event is the big tank. Wow, does that thing pack a punch (it benefits from about six different upgrades).

what puzzled me the most was the fact that the broken imba (at least in TT) Primaris Tank is lower Tech than the Land Raider, also i miss the Antigrav flag (it was in TT)

Yes

- Intercessors: Tanky Tacticals, that trade Tactical doctrine and some of the other Tacticals only research for more HP and AP to their Bolt Rifles. Either buy Tactical upgrades or Intercessors, but not both. Only 4 models and no Melta charges. because... reasons.

- Invader ATV: What I predicted elsewhere. A pair of ATVs with Anti-Infantry focus, that can punch a little above their weight thanks to Onslaught Gatling Cannon's Rending and Twin-Linked Bolt Rifles AP, feels as though their intended to be an alternative to Land Speeders + Multi-melta research. The Onslaught GC has poor accuracy, because... reasons.

- Storm Speeder Thunderstrike: One of the best units of the DLC. You get strong Anti-Armor/Monstrous Creature/Vehicle/Elite firepower, a Damage received UP trait (1 turn) against the unit attacked by the Thunderstrike, and all on a skimmer platform. You should probably have several of these in the mid-late tiers.

- Aggressors: Discount Terminators with Range 1 equipment, and does something I wish GW would allow in tabletop (Fragstorm Launchers w/ Flamestorm gauntlets, instead of being limited to Boltstorm Aggressors only), only to be a complete disappointment when you realize that their selling point (strong Infantry Toughness and multiple wounds) doesn't translate well to Gladius (where Invulnerable Damage reduction is better). Powerfists also have Unwieldy trait, then get the Twin-linked trait, and the unit is only 2 models instead of 3 because... reasons.

- Hellblasters: Oh, hi T'au Pathfinders several tiers too late. A glass cannon unit that's only 3 models, and lacks Tabletop's trait for a model to get a last attack on destruction in, because... reasons

- Inceptors: Gravis armor, twin-plasma packing jump infantry. Hits really hard, suffers same issues as Aggressors, because... reasons.

- Redemptor Dreadnought: Yeah this is solid, get this, and treat the classic Dreadnought like Games Workshop treats it: something to be kept in a case save for Horus Heresy/30k games. Does everything Classic Dreadnought does, but better and with more weapons. because...Primaris.

- Repulsor Executioner: "So, which weapons from the Armory did you want to equip this tank with?" "Yes." Get this, then start building Repulsors and Thunderfire cannons. EDIT/Additional Note: Don't be fooled by its Skimmer/hovering appearance, in Lore, the Repulsor is so heavy that it barely lifts itself above the ground, functioning closer to tank without treads (likewise, it does not have the Fly keyword in tabletop). Instead, its got a reference to a rule/stratagem from 8th and 9th edition, that slows down enemies in the Repulsor Executioner's within range 1.
