The End of Minion Masters™
"With this update, we are adding what we believe is almost the final batch of new content to Minion Masters. The final content patch (2.9) will be released next month.

Minion Masters did great for a long time, but now is no longer profitable and cannot sustain further development. Our 2.0 update didn’t perform as hoped, and while we explored various options to revitalize the game, including an Android release and the alternate Masters’ perks feature, none of them managed to keep the game profitable.

Throughout this journey, we’ve remained committed to providing a fair and enjoyable experience for all players. We consciously chose not to adopt aggressive monetization tactics, prioritizing your trust and the integrity of the game over short-term gains.

However, this is not the end of Minion Masters!

The game will remain live, and we’re thrilled to give you guys a direct role in shaping its future. Starting next November, we’ll roll out monthly balance updates based on your votes. We’ll share more details about how it will work in the upcoming weeks, as well as additional information about other topics, like moderation and any other changes.

You’ll have the power to decide which cards should be buffed or nerfed, keeping the game dynamic and aligned with your preferences. ALL revenue generated will go directly to sustaining the servers and keeping the game live.

We have prepared an FAQ with general questions you might have. You can access it here: {LINK REMOVED}

We've shared an incredible journey with you. Together, we’ve built an amazing world, lived epic (and stressful) moments, and released more than 260 cards. During those several years, your passion and dedication have been the lifeblood of this game. While our role in creating new content may be coming to an end, the heart and soul of Minion Masters will always belong to you.

—The Minion Masters Team"

Yikes, it's gone.

It’s bittersweet to see the journey of this game reaching this pivotal moment. On one hand, it’s a testament to the dedication and passion of both the developers and the community that the game has thrived for so long. The decision to avoid aggressive monetization tactics, prioritizing player trust and game integrity, speaks volumes about the team’s commitment to creating a fair and enjoyable experience.

However, it’s also a stark reminder of the harsh realities of game development. Despite the best efforts, including the ambitious 2.0 update and exploring new platforms, the game couldn’t maintain profitability. It’s a sobering reflection on how even beloved games can struggle in a competitive market.

Yet, there’s a nostalgic charm in how the team is handling this transition. Allowing the community to take the reins and shape the future of MM through monthly balance updates is a beautiful way to honor the players’ dedication. It ensures that the game remains dynamic and community-driven, even if new content creation is winding down.

The journey of Minion Masters has been filled with epic moments and a strong sense of community. While the end of new content is a significant change, the heart and soul of the game will continue to thrive through the players’ involvement. It’s a fitting tribute to a game that has brought so much joy and excitement to its fans.

I wish you all the best as I step off this wild ride forever.

I salute each and every MM General I have ever played.

The game used to give me hope. It still could pull it off, but it's going to take some serious effort. I have spent so much time and money on this.

Cesspool incoming...

I have nearly 4k wins with the game. One of the best free games I have ever played; but I fear for its future.

"The community" is literally everyone. There will be absurd proposals, too. And since most players want different things from a game like this, it'll be chaos.
Changer Farseer Oct 14, 2024 @ 4:26pm
this game always had matchmaking problems, even when the devs lied in chat that we were imagining things. now it's worse than ever. probably cheaters too since it became no man's land. hope it dies and burns. not playing a single minute of this ♥♥♥♥♥
Jackeea Oct 14, 2024 @ 5:00pm
(there's no cheaters)
We're never getting a Zen Chi master then? Lame AF.
Welp, they'd better release the game as single-player with bots, and let people host their own matches when they finally do decide to pull the plug.
It's 2024, ffs. We've seen the fate of "live service" games when it comes to preservation.
