So, just 1200 players?
I thought that game is very popular, wanted to start playing, but just 1200 players online... shame, why every single game I could like is dead before I even strart playing it...

Could be that old players lose interest while new ones don't stay for very long.

I have almost 400 hours in Minion Masters and don't really have a reason to hop back on.
I tried to grind to reach the leaderboards but it just takes way too many games/winning streaks to make a dent in how many "leagues" there are. Plus, their little season things are way too short and only introduce 2 new cards.

I played Duelyst at the very last expansion and thought it was awesome, and then it shut its servers down. I also enjoyed the MOBA Vainglory, but the same thing happened. Just poof.

How does that describe a dead playerbase lol, you will virtually always find an opponent for 1v1 and 2v2 is like a 1 minute queue time. I think you would be better served playing games which you enjoy instead of hand wringing over statistics which don't conform well to a strict model.

Rather than looking at the amount of players look at the wait times, they're the fastest of any game i've played

No matter what time of the day or night i play this, even as a premade team, i never wait more then a few seconds to get a match. On the rare occasion it takes like 30 seconds, we're shocked.

Don't worry about what stats or other people say. If you enjoy the game, and get matches, then just enjoy it.

and no, they aren't bots.

Actually yes there are bots and they have openly said that. The bots are players that are currently not online. The bots use the deck that that person uses the most when they were last online. If you get up higher then yeah you won't see bots but if you are plat or below you will see them more than you think.

Yeah kind of true. When I was around Gold/Plat the games were different, now at Diamond 1 and above it's always human players - easy check with emote spam and wait for reaction

Wait really? I had no clue of their choosing actual player decks to represent. That is kinda freaking neato, except I am not sure they actively choose any "best" decks. Nevertheless a cool insight that I was totally unaware of, despite facing many such bots.

This has been addressed so many times.

Minion Masters has AI-Players, or "bot" opponents. Players will encounter them more frequently at the beginning of the game and less so as they progress through the ranks. They are designed to provide a challenge, but yet also a good space to experiment and learn the game in the early stages. The higher rank you are, the better the bot will play, as it attempts to simulate an opponent of a similar rank. The reason for their presence is to extend the learning phase of the game beyond the tutorial and to give new players a chance to find their feet as they progress the ranks.

FAQ

Bots follow all the game rules
You will never encounter a bot in Master, Grand Master or Contender.
You will never be teamed up with a bot in 2v2.
There are no bots designed to make you lose.
The bot decks are not designed or matched to specifically counter your decks

It isn't a long que time, the thing is that once you get to certain ranks its just a string of the same decks being thrown at eachother, and the same masters. There were adventures that released the first chapter that were kinda fun, but then those got thrown out the window for "Wanna pay for these?"

I usually screw around for my daily and then shut down for the day. Waiting for a friend of mine to get into it for the 'perfect game' thing from steam, then probably just remove it from my system.

Don't look at steam charts and think it's the whole picture, also Xbox players to. Adn that is only concurrent players, not the whole player base which is obviously much bigger. This is still a game you can have a LOT of fun with. And soon the Mobile release is out which should bring in stacks more players.

Queue times are fine and quick usually sub 30 seconds. I'm in master league and opponents are skillful and don't feel like bots.
