It's fine. You can unlock all cards (kind of; more on that later) with exclusively free currency. You get tons of Gold through winning games, quests, that sort of things, which get you "power tokens", which give you cards. You can also craft cards you want manually, with Shards, which is also given out in a plentiful supply. You get both of these at a very generous rate - about 50 hours is all it took me to get a full collection, which you absolutely don't need. I think I had a bunch of decks I loved playing within a week or so.

However, things aren't looking great on that front. A recent announcement said that with each new expansion, any Legendary cards (usually flashy ones with special effects) are going to be locked behind a paywall until the expansion is over (about a month). So you'll have to cough up 1500 rubies (about £6 or $8), or wait a month to get it.

And on top of all that, Twitch drops pop out like candy. You don't have to idle in Twitch streams, just install Chatty (https://chatty.github.io/) and add all Minion Masters streamers to your fav list.

Everything in the steam DLCs can be earned pretty quickly in-game; as long as you take a little bit to read card descriptions then work towards the specific ones you want you'll have whatever deck setup you want in pretty much no time, especially as a new player where the game is throwing level-up rewards at you left and right.

The dlcs themselves were actually each free for a few days when they first released, the devs normally release one with each new expansion as a little promotional thing so you'll probably be able to grab a starter box in a couple days when the new season starts.

Also leveling cards doesn't make them stronger like in other games in this genre. So you don't have to care about buying 100 copies of a single card.

I never spent a dime on it. I am a ton of hours it.

I recommend signing up for the newsletters, you get free cards on occasion via codes.

Also Team Battles and Quests help with the cards as well.

This game isn't pay-to-win, just save up for crafting, do quests, ??, profit. (=

I hit Grand Master without spending money, which then led me to buy the account and master upgrade.

another thing is the card balancing.

even tho there are commons, rares epics n legendaries.
that doesnt tell anything bout how useful they are.

actualy legendaries are the worse in this game :D
they all might have their place n right to exist. but they all come with rather huge down sides.

epics are kinda situational. there are some, very few, that i would consider must haves.
( succubus,

which leaves commons n rares being the best cards in this game.

if you happen to understand the cards well, even the starter set can bring you into master ranks.

Not at all f2p. Its almost as if it is even afraid to ask you for money. You can easily get everything in the game by just playing it. You can use money to get some small boosts in progression and skins, but surprisingly little of those even, as you cant automaticly buy the cards you might want to, and you are given ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ as well...

0 p2w.

all it requests from you is time. if you pay for season pass you just get new cards faster. Skins in the passes however takes along time before they hit the marked. If you cant unlock the cards they will be avalible to be crafted when the pass ends.

2 masters rotate for free on a weekly basis.

No but if you reach a certain rank... well have fun not winning because some cards are certainly better than others. So its play to win as some might say but at least its not that grindy. About 300 hours should get you at least 1 of each cards and you can use a total of 3 of each card. HAVE FUN THO.

kinda goes hand in hand with player skill and luck.
having a legendary card or copypaste the leaderboard decks dont mean you will win the matches.

Yeah when I see people say o have fun you won't advance further I just chuckle I hit gm my first season without spending a dime. You can either build decks or you can't. The game isn't hard to climb in.

You literally fell for marketing ploy. Do you know how easy it is to get to grandmaster? The game is designed to make players feel good about their lackluster skills.
