Winning games generally comes down to playing well, not having bought the best cards.
100% this.
Partly true - you can actually earn a lot of cards really easily and create good decks with them...
Not sure about that - every season the new cards are op or "broken" or both and locked behind the Season Pass, which give paying players the advantage of getting the cards very early.
In the free tier you get them most of the time nearly at the end of the pass / season and when the season ends every time the op season cards get nerfed and the new op cards are revealed with the next season. Just take a look at these examples here in the discussions:

true - best cards won't help if you're a bad player
Not sure about that either - when only good players who know what they are doing meet, the season cards are usually a decisive advantage - at least till Master rank.
But I suppose after 2k hours and almost a full year of play time (over 8k hours) you don't see it that way anymore.
no offense - had my ups and downs with this game and still loving and playing it - only my two cents -
Sanctum is exactly what I mean, an overpowered season card. I bet with you this card gets nerfed in the next season! ;)
And Korrrgoth I've seen quite a bit recently, I would guess only today i saw it in about 10 Games out of 30 in diamond 3 to 1 (remember - got's buffed in the last update ;) )
But again, I won't argue with you - you're slightly biased with that amount of hours in the game - once again - no offense- I like the game nevertheless :)
i think this game is definition of pay2win- not just that, its very predatory and invasive and just pure "evil" monetization preying on gambling addiction and all that bad stuff, pop ups after a match, timely limited offers, you see what you dont get for not paying etc
and the worst there is no set amount of money you COULD pay to get anything you want, that all is rng based too-
sure, its probably "easy to grind" (compared to some mmo or whatever) but i play for a little time now and there are some cards that i really would like but i know if i craft them i will draw it afterwards so i have to stack my ressources until i can craft "all cards" that i want, and that sucks a lot
and no offense, its still a very cool and good game that i like to play, im just a little fascinated how you all say "aah its not that bad" when its literally the worst (that i have played for more than 1 day atleast)
you say its not that bad, because there are not that many cards? cause the prices not that high? i mean yea, the numbers arent that bad but the mechanics in place are the ♥♥♥♥♥ worst.
or, im sorry for this assumption, but are you all mobile players who are just used to this ♥♥♥♥ so much that you reaaallly think this is not bad?
Around 2,000 :)))
Just out of curiosity... for how long have you been playing this game? And I mostly say this because I don't recall your name from being in any other thread of this game's community.
I leave factions. No time for quests because of job . And around 2,000 h as I said
pretty much this.
But some people with thousands of hours among years and all the cards try really hard to pretend like new players with limited cards have a chance without paying a LOT to catch up. And then they pretend they win because of skill only lmao. The very definition of ptw.
When you begin the game you have battles against same levels as yours lol
