That's 3 + 2 bonus, not just 1.
You can buy a certain card that is currently offered in the shop, correct. What you cannot do is buying a specific card you want or need with real money, because chances are you'd have to wait a very long time until this specific card is in the shop (if even). If it is a daily deal, you'd even have to check daily for the offers, because otherwise it could be gone.
I agree here. Although Rubies were mostly used for obtaining other things than Power Tokens, the possibility to buy them with real money and end up with tons of Power Tokens & Shards was there. It's still there. Although, even here no specific card can be bought. But I further agree that the more cards one already owns, the higher the chances to get that cards one needs/wants by just gathering up the Shards from a load of Power Tokens.
In the end, if a player spends money to get the random card offer in the shop or to buy loads of Power Tokens, the outcome is the very same. Both players will end up pretty sure with the card/-s they wanted.
Furthermore, it does not change anything with this patch. You could throw a lot of rubies, get a lot of cards and craft ones which you needed. This buying is kinda pointless, because no one can buy himself a collection at once. Nor it would matter much, because legendary and supreme cards have same power level as common cards and in this game, solid mechanics and good grasp on the game mechanics will always win over superior collection. It is not like Hearthstone or LoL where you simply cannot compete without investing a lot of time and money to acquire hero pool or card pool before trying ranked on equal footing.
