You cant always focus on protecting low value ranged units, not for too long anyway. I find Soulstealer and harbringer especially torublesome, minions like plasma marines are not fast nor strong enough to deal with those efficiently nor are medium mana spells.
On your side sometimes it's better to wait for the enemy to attack the tower so you can spawn weak units safely without them instantly taking aggro and dying.
For harbinger and you have no units on the field, you'll want to distract him with either cheap unit or something that taunts (like screaming scrat) so that he doesn't kill what you spawned to kill him. He can be killed with spells and it's nearly an even mana trade. He cost 7, you can using lightning + fireball or beam of doom or scratillary.
This is pretty much what I am trying to do, I still find harbringer troublesome because you either have to let him hit your tower and then spawn units on him or use up resources to diistract and then attack, it gets very hard when its not the only unit on the board. I find myself often in situation when by the time I deal with harbringer with all these shenenigans the preasure gets aplied and I am getting pushed.
I havent found an efficent way to deal with harbringer thus far. Summning a lot of small units is kind of a nulifying play but oponent is not going to let you do that all the time. Its worst when harbinger gets extra cover from other ranged/flying minions.
Want to know the weakness of something? Use it.
Want to know the strength? Play against it.
For Soulstealer, you'd ideally want a single strong minion like Succubus or Shadow Whelp that can bring it down without feeding it Souls.
For Harbinger, you want something a bit swarmy to kind of tank its shots while damaging it like Infiltration, Shielded Crossbow Dudes, Propeller Horde. Or alternatively, you can use something like Divine Warrior to tank its attacks while another ranged minion shoots it down.
Of course, Harbinger being a 7 mana minion, also means that Beam of Doom isn't a bad play either since it'll be trading evenly (Or if lucky with positioning, can trade favourably with hitting other minions as collateral damage)
Also, Sniper Squad and Sniper Scrat can be useful for dealing with flying minions, due to their large range they can often get a shot or 2 off before even Harbinger gets to attack them (The downside is these can often be killed by an opponent using Daggerfall). But a single volley from a Sniper Squad is 200 damage which will take out most flying minions (Except Harbinger) so the opponent has to be quick to take them out.
