If you have all the masters.. card crafting is a way more difficult question, xiao long is probably still the best legendary to craft in general.. but there's a lot of great rare/supreme cards such as illusory cleaver, cursebearer, fire imp, stun lancers, succubus, incubus, scrat tank..
For gold.. If you're good enough and confident enough with your skills, you could spend it on draft for a chance at greater rewards, otherwise save some for potential shop offers and spend the rest on tokens
The most simple answer to that is the power tokens that go on sale. Such as, "3 power tokens for 2700gold" - Only a 300g discount, but still a discount, almost 1/3 of a pack.
Sometimes buying a random supreme is worth it imo, I've seen a random supreme go for 4k gold and I think on average it takes more than that to get one. If you don't have some good commons/rares then it probably isn't worth it, but if you're mainly missing supremes then it's a pretty good deal
If you want a magic focused deck then just buy Milloween, if you want elf or ranged deck then just use Stormbringer, accursed deck just use Mordar or Morellia, etc. The bonuses the masters give will determine the deck you should be using for them. I've seen many players make the mistake of buying masters like Milloween and not having a single magic card in their deck, or Stormbringer with only a single ranged minion in their deck, or using ravager with scrats and other minions that gets 1-shotted. Needless to say they usually always lose.
My favourite one is the other direction. Miloween with a 10 spell deck!
That said, a generally "Good" deck can actually work with most of the Masters to be honest. Since typically, a fairly standard deck has a couple of spells for removal and a mix of ranged minions to pew pew and some beefy melee to tank damage. With costs from 2/3/4/5/6/7
Meaning, you've got spells to work with Miloween and Settsu. Melee minions to work with Volco. Ranged minions to work with Stormbringer. Beef cakes to work with Ravager. High priority powerhouses to work with Mordar. 4/5 cost minions to work with King Puff. Minions in general to work with Ratbo.
With Apep, Diona and Morelia being independent of what cards are in their deck.
Sure, Masters can have more specialized decks made around their unique skills - Such as a Scrat deck with Ratbo, an entirely 4/5 cost minion deck with King Puff, an infinite Bahra deck with Mordar, an Ascension deck wwith Morelia etc.
But those types of decks aren't particularly necessary in order to get good value from a master. I mean, I regularly get level 10 Arcane Golems with a 2 spell Miloween deck (Which is the cap) for example.
On Topic:
As far as things to spend currency on... It depends on what you're looking for.
Shards can be spent getting Masters or cards. As far as good cards to craft... If I just look at some King Puff Cup decks and point out the cards that are fairly prominent among multiple decklists:
Illusory Cleaver
Scrat Pack
S.T. INT
Shock Rock
Screaming Scrat
Cursebearer
Daggerfall
Dragon Whelp
Plasma Marines
Fire Imp
Warrior
Spearthrowers
Divine Warrior
Cleaver
Defenso Chopper
I'll also add Laser Turret to the list because that thing can be really good as it can melt through big beefy targets that people will throw at you (Like Colossus and Dragons)
So... If you're looking to get some good cards quickly, pick a few of them. Especially Daggerfall and Defenso Chopper, those 2 are pretty cheap to craft and are really good.
Gold... Spend it on Power Tokens to get cards and shards. Can also hold onto some for shop deals.
