This game makes my PC run very hot
So I want to preface this by saying I love the game, currently at 288 hours played and would love to continue but since getting my new computer it makes my laptop run warmer then any other game I play. I am just curious if anyone else has encountered this issue and if so a fix for it.

have you checked what FPS it is running?

if its running higher than 60 just limit it to 60 FPS.

Yeah, this game really hammers my PC despite having very few problems anywhere else. When this has come up in the past the devs have blamed Unity.

So it's the GPU getting hot?

my gpu fan also fires with this game, I haven't checked the temperatures yet, but that doesn't happen with more demanding games

Me neither have any problem with heating, it works smooth.

How many fans you have on PC?

I copy paste this from pcworld website:

1.Do try and clean the fans from any dust and remove any dust from clogging up your system’s airflow area.
2.If you have overclocking, try to dial back your settings—especially the voltage if you’ve tweaked it.

Me too, I have top tier specs (i9 9900K, 64Gb DDR4, 1080 Ti, full SSD etc...) I play all the latest and greatest games at 4K res without issues.

Only Minion Masters overheats my computer and causes BSOD, sometimes after 10 minutes, sometimes after 1h.

The overheating is so bad that it actually warms up my room.

It doesn't matter if I put graphics at max or lowest same issue, I've tried with vsync on and fps limiters and it doesn't change anything.
I Have almost your exact same specs and this game turns my PC into a space heater. I've had to turn off hyperthreading just for this game. I just reinstalled my custom water loop too and have excellent static pressure fans on the WC radiator.

I kind of fixed it by messing with settings, basically the game pegs your GPU to 100%, that's why people with thrash GPU don't notice anything is because that doesn't expands much heat, but when it happens with a 500w+ card that's when you gonna start to sweat.

I'll post my settings later, it allows to play in 4K with 20-30% GPU usage instead of the 90+ before

Let me know if that helps you as well, with 4K resolution I went from 90% GPU usage to 20% with those settings.

Will try settings by @Sh4

Also have this problem with GPU load. Made me wondering if the gamedevs are mining bitcoins on my machine
Ave Aug 25, 2019 @ 8:30am
the game just uses the resources available to it.

if your pc/laptop runs too hot then its time to clean some dust and replace thermal paste.

I don't think so upsilon :steamhappy: because if that was the case with bitcoins, the majority of players will have problems.

My PC is 3 years old with this specs and it works extremely fine without been hot:

Win 7 64 bit (SP1)
DirectX 11
GeForce GTX 1060 3GB (freshly updated drive)
RAM 8GB
Intel Core i7-6700K CPU@4GHz 4 Cores
Resolution Screen: 1920 x 1080
