Cursebearer
This card is a very big problem right now. I'm not seeing how high hp units can be viable at the higher tiers of play with this card existing. It is not fair or reasonable to have someone playing a Statue deck be able to fully support their Statue push everytime, otherwise their 5 mana statue just gets killed very easily to this card. Brutus is also much weaker now with this card existing. I can go on and on with how many cards/situations this Cursebearer has too much of an affect on but there is no point. There is basically never a reason to run Warrior over this card. The curse effect is way too good.
I hope in the next patch this card is nerfed to 4 mana, I think that would be a good start in the right direction for this card. Even at 4 mana I think it will be on the strong side, but at its current mana cost of 3 it is just beyond broken. I am really struggling to make viable decks these days mainly because of this card.

Curse effect needs to be adjusted to something like 3% or even 2.5%, this will make Ghost viable and Cursebearer will not be so effective card.

Agreed that it's very good value right now as it largely replaces warrior with the added benefit of being amazing at taking down high hp units.
Some comparisons with warrior:
Warrior dps: 35
CB dps vs warrior: 39
CB dps vs cleaver: 47
CB dps vs Blue golem: 57
CB dps vs Statue/Colossus: 73
CB dps vs Troubadour/Red Golem: 89

Pros: much higher dps against high hp units
Reveals invisible units in close proximity
Useful AoE against high hp units
AoE continues after dying


Neutral: Largely the same at killing units 150hp and below without assistance (3 hits to kill 150 hp units @ 6 seconds)


Cons: 50 less health


Suggestions: Increase mana cost, curse the curse bearer, change the curse % or down tune the base stats with a different model.

i think curse bearer is okay it is good counter to high health cards, like demon warrior and statue but its not as good 1v1 to assassinate dangerous lowder health targets its not as good as warrior

I agree that it's too strong, it's very effective against big units and competes with other low/medium cost units.
I would still use it at 4 mana

I don't like the idea of slowing the curse effect, ghost is a legendary card and this would give it big boost right into meta, instead of a specialized card it is at the moment. Increasing the mana cost sounds pretty reasonable.

i agree that the current cb is undercosted, but eventually *something* has to police the big beefies now that beam no longer does.

Lightning Bolt!

On a more reliable note, most large minions cannot shoot up. Whelps are quite effective against them. They also tend to do poorly vs the swarmey things due to lowish attack speed. Ranged units leading them around everywhere can also be quite effective because they tend to be slow.

i understand laser turret is kind of a niche play at this point, but did people forget it exists...? i don't think i've ever seen it mentioned in any conversation about countering high-hp minions. why do we need more things that take down high-cost, high-health cards? i feel like cb doesn't do much of anything except re-encourage the spam deck meta, which is what so many of the recent changes were aimed at making less prevalent. I honestly feel so discouraged to include Troub, Golems, or Col in my decks anymore because they're readily countered by a fair number of plays, namely LB and LT, but also whelps, swarms of marines or CB dudes, etc. I guess thinking about it more now, the concept is cool and it could actually find a pretty solid place in the game, just not in the form it's in now. I agree that the cost should be increased, and i actually like Khaz's idea of cursing it. would force players to be much more careful about when they play it as well as make it less spamable; plus, it just kinda makes sense.

Idk. I've used Cursebearer a bunch of times now and I don't believe he's overpowered.

I also used cursebreaker a lot of times i didnt find him op .Unless there is a speficic combo people use and it makes this card extrelemy strong .

Maybe becasue you played with it and not against it? it is a big difrence, and maybe he is jsut frustateing to play against.

yeah most of the plays people are putting him in is like living statue, then CB, then guardian and healer plus healing fireball and shrine. its pretty retarded, the curse damage kills everything long before i have any chance of killing or at least stalling the push.
