Found a steam gift in my inventory

I just found this game in my steam inventory as a gift. But I don't know from who! None of my friend sent this to me, so, thank you devs! But, why? :D

Looks like they gave people who bought the game/premium upgrade a second copy. Presumably to boost the player base.

Actually I have an extra copy and I never purchased a thing... It came with the "Friendly Battle" update!

Yeah, I was pretty surprised to see it in my Inventory as well. I've never played it before at all. I was trying to see if someone on my friend's list had sent it to me as a gift, but there was no name. Just simply said "Steam Gift".

Looks pretty interesting. I'll download it and give it a try later on today.

I think I might know why it happened, at least for me. Because out of the 10 games BetaDwarf developed and published; the one game I do own, is called "Forced: Slightly Better Edition"

It seems like it was a promotional thing, to anyone who owns any of their games. That's my guess now.
