Defenso Choppers and Cannon Rollers are other common cards the counter monkeys, and both of those are also useful in other matchups so there's no excuse to not have those in your deck.
If there's any nerf monkeys need its the range of their attack speed buff. Crossbows shooting a monkey at max range really shouldn't give the monkey tons of attack speed.
I have no issue with this. There needs to be some downside to filling your deck with triple crossbow dudes. Granted, Stormbringer's second perk can get away with it.
Some of the monkey decks are running blue golem, probably for the reason to tank a cleaver coming for them.
But your first point is right. If your master is capable of doing 50 damage reasonably well, Cleaver will finish it off before they have a chance to do anything. They aren't going to heal their monkey when it's down 50 hp. If you don't want it anywhere near your master, then other minions could achieve the same effect. 350 hp is already pretty low.
Right now only two people in the top 10 are using monkey decks, and I have played against one of them repeatedly and forced him to switch decks because the monkey spam had such a bad winrate vs me.
Also, the most common things to counter the battle monkey are commons. Not supremes and legendaries. Though, I do like using snake druid against those decks.
Hahahaha/Global Troll is annoying, but not that good. He'll try to copy some strong combo but not use it well.
