DS4windows switching between ps and xbox button prompts

Topic. Using ds4windows so controller vibration is enabled and the button prompts constantly flicker between playstation and xbox styles. It doesn't seem to effect anything but it's annoying. Anyone else getting this/know how to fix?

sounds like the controller is bieng picked up as an 'emulated' xbox and as a ps4 controller. I had an issue with this recently with cuphead (and it counting the one of them as player 2) so cuphead and mugman played off one controller. to fix in cuphead i just had to right click my DS4Windows taskbar icon and click "stop".

Sadly I am still trying to get my PS4 controller to work at all so far, but once i do i will see if i have the same issue.

are you wireless or wired?

@Seto You can do custom bindings in ds4windows, duplicate your controller profile and bind the R keyboard to L2?

sorry edited my last post as i realized i neglected to do that step 100%

To stop DS4windows, i right click the icon in my taskbar, and click stop in the dropdown. it may or may not fix, but if not just right click and hit start agin.

Alright, wired my contoller up and got mine working. Whenever I hit the (or get close) to the touch pad on the PS4 controller it does pop up the keyboard controls (flickers and flashes between xbox and PC keyboard). So far thats the only icon difference I am noticing.

But that would turn vibration off, wouldn't it? Aside from the lack of vibration the normal PS4 controller works fine without needing the emulatord. I just want vibration on for the poop minigame, makes it a lot easier. So far I haven't found any other part of the game where vibration actualy helps.

Forcefully disable the DirectInput device. It's one of the options (I believe it's referred to as "hide DS4 controller"). I haven't used DS4Windows in a long time since I have my own software to do this stuff, but I know that's the option you need to use.

The game is seeing input on XInput (which DS4Windows is emulating) and displays Xbox prompts. It's simultaneously seeing your DualShock 4 controller as a DirectInput device and it can see activity on that device too. You'r confusing the poor thing :)

Tried Hide DS4 Controller, same thing happened. Guess I'm going without the vibrate. Oh well, not a huge deal.

Use the Steam overlay instead. It works fine in this game without the problems DS4Windows has.

Yes, I'm doing it right now. Just open the Steam settings, and enable DualShock 4 controller support.

You will then need to run the game in Big Picture Mode and the overlay will translate your DualShock 4 controller into an XInput controller, the same as DS4Windows would. But, as an added benefit, you get access to Steam community mapping profiles. Most games will have custom bindings that the community can vote on, you can pull that up at any time with the steam overlay.

Its not working. Kinda.
I can use it in steam and it shows the ps prompts, but ingame, im still getting xbox prompts.

Got it working
Turn off DS4 windows close it unpair the controller and repair without ds4windows on
steam will launch a window and will see the ds4

Didnt work.
DS4windows is not running, its off. Plugged out usb, then plugged in (i have wired, dont have bluetooth) and everything works fine with steam, but when I enter game, still xbox prompts.
