Custom Game Setup Guide

Before you hop into a custom game with your friends, you need to be sure to set up Port Forwarding. Without this your server will have no connection to the internet, so no one will be able to see it in the server browser. Firstly you'll need to access your router settings.

1. Depending on who your ISP (Internet Service Provider) is a quick google search with your ISP and the words "Router IP" will give you the number you need. An example would be 192.168.1.0

2. After you have the IP, type it into your browser and log into your router. Once logged in, head to your router settings and look for Port Forwarding.

3. You'll need to create two different ports first one will be 7777 and 27015 both set to UDP traffic.

4. Be sure to save all changes and you should be good to go!

Can I host a server on my laptop and play on it with an Xbox? I recognize that this will probably involve buying the game twice.

do all players have to do this to connect or just the host?

will my game show up on the server list in game after doing this?

This doesn't appear to work at all. Doesn't show up on the list, can't direct connect from Steam, all port forwarding is done.
