Deal with looters quest
I can never complete this simple quest any time I try, I just can't find enough looters! I can usually find 2 or 3 groups, but then no more. How do I do this quest?

When you accept the quest, the looters will be spawned in on the world map. Usually 5 groups or more, the looters will spread out and move, (mostly likely in the opposite direction of you). The real trouble lies in the fact that whenever you move, everything else on the map moves too. Eliminating each looter group will give time for the others to wander/drift further away from the main city of interest.
Just avoid these quests. Any bandit hunting quest acts similarily, so try avoiding those too. Bandit lair raiding, bounty hunting and delivery/courier quests are far more worthwhile than spending days hunting down a couple bandits for the same price :/

Oh, so they move away from the city that gives the quest, to some place else? Wow how does that make sense for the quest... I was constantly doing big loops around the city...

It's not intentional. You may get lucky and all the looters stay within the vicinity. Most times, though, they'll wander surprisingly far away from the town of the quest. Once I found a looter group around Sargoth that belonged to a quest I accepted in Veluca. You're given plenty of time to do these quests, (between 30-90 days I believe), so just let these sorts of quests slide and focus on other things.

This quest is much easier if you have high spotting and path-finding.

Also, be aware that all looter groups count for the quest, not only the ones spawned for it. Yes, you can kill a looter gang at the other side of Calradia, and the guildmaster will pay you for it. Just make sure you can back to the city before the quest expires. Once I got over 600 coins for one iteration of the quest.

I just accepted one of these quests and was annoyed because I counted 5 groups of looters at the start and I caugt 4 of them and lost the last one. Not wanting to give up on the quest I turned the cheats on (under options before you start the game) and ingame I pressed control+t to reveal all travalling parties and armies in castles. I searched the entire map for 30-60 min and found them (9 days after the quest started) all the way near Vezin and Rivacheg (veagir territory) I started the quest in Jelkala (rhodok territory) that is quite the distance for looters that are causing trouble near Jelkala

Why are you here? Why are we here, just to suffer?

^-- This.

You can really abuse this quest if you get lucky. :)

On finding Looter groups, special groups, etc..: In my opinion, one is fully justified in revealing the map by removing the Fog of War with these quests. (CTRL-T IIRC) While the looter quest is the least offensive of all of the "kill/capture targeted group" the others can spawn groups anywhere on the map and it's possible that the target of the quest can even get captured by an AI force...

Fun > Unfun

So, keep cheats enabled and just CTRL-T for quests like this as needed.

like tuidjy said, the quest is doable if you have high spotting and pathfinding. its about closing in on the looter parties and taking them out as fast as possible. the bigger your army, the slower you are, the lengthier the chase, you chase one party away from the city enough to lose track of the garrison within it, the other looters will already wander far off, possibly into other territories. from there on its detective work, you may as well abandon this quest and do other things, you may be lucky to find the looters on your travels. be sure to cash in on those you do kill. should you fail to get all 5 parties, you will at least earn 10 for each party you did take down, so its not completely lost progress. worth a few letter deliveres as well as the loot you got from these guys, looters are a priced prey in the beginning, especially training up couple few of your soldiers

Well i play Gekokujo, similar quest but like, almost no looters. Mostly monk rebels or deserter (The deserter is no joke, full of high leveled master archer)

I convinced all five gangs to join my party. LOL
I'd also suggest having a smaller party with a lot of mounted units (which moves faster) on top of the suggestion of high skill points in Spotting and Path-finding (and for that matter, Tracking).
