Provocation quest help?
I've gotten a quest to provoke a war against another region and I have to attack villages and caravans. Any tips on this? I've been going to villages in the region they want me to and I've been doing the "Take hostile action" option. How many times will I have to do this to provoke a war? How low does my relationship have to go and how do I find caravans? Any help, anyone?

Usually you only have to do something once or twice. Attacking a caravan, I'm pretty sure, means instantly accomplishing the mission.

I've done "Take hostile action" on like 4 villages in the region and nothing has happened so far :/

I suggest attacking enemy peasants, then. That works quite quickly too.
And you don't "have to", only if you want to.
Quests aren't mandatory. You always have a choice...

I pillaged and razed a village (the villagers attacked me also and I slaughtered them all).
After all that, the quest still hasn't been completed.

It must be bugged or poorly designed.
I'm now at war with the target faction and I have lost a lot of honour.

I'd suggest avoiding this quest in future.

OP, "Take a hostile action" could include stealing cattle or demanding a tribute from the peasants. I don't think those options would work. The objective is to upset that faction and start a war...obviously, you want to be doing very nasty things.

Finding caravans is simply a matter of keeping an eye open. They wander the map, moving from city to city. Bridges, valleys, etc. make for excellent choke-points. Having a high Spotting skill would help too.

Personally, I avoid these quests because they are typically given out by losers. You'll gain a little bit of influence with other useless lords, while upsetting all of the ones worth having good relations with. It's entirely counter-productive if your objective is to win the game.

There may well be circumstances where it might make sense in your game though? There shouldn't be much difficulty in doing it. If raiding one village doesn't work, then raid another. Eventually, that other faction will get upset enough to declare war. Oh and yes, your honour and relations with good people will suffer...that's kind of the point. Deliberately instigating wars is a ♥♥♥♥ move.

You have to know the typical CB's, in mods like Age of Calradia Enhanced this is a bit clearer.
When you attack a Caravan while this Quest is active, you get a special dialog option to initiate combat, stating something like that Caravan is trespassing the territory of your liege/your kingdom.

However, you surely have seen the "Village X feels mistreated and asks King Y for protection" event, that is the other possible way, to go to one of your own villages, atleast that is my guess, and take a hostile action against it, maybe via a special dialog option there too, I honestly don't know, because I always attacked the caravans instead.

After raiding 4 villages i got nothing, but when I go up to a caravan I got a special text and the quest was completed instantly. So the directions for the quest were just unclear
