Failed wedding
I gave Count Grainwad a 15,000 denar dowery to marry his daughter Lady Sonadel. At the time 15,000 is a lot (almost crippling really). But then Count Grainwad up and joins a different faction before we have a feast causing me to insta-fail the wedding quest.

But I'm still out 15,000 denars. Is there a way to get that back from Grainwad?

I do not think so, but have you talked to him after that?

You also could capture him, throw him into a deep wet prison and wait for his family to pay you money. Repeat until you got the 15000 denars back.

I haven't run directly into Grainwad since before he swapped sides though I have continued visiting Sonadel during peace time. Swadia went to war with literally everything at once so I've been too busy to go wandering off poking for him.

Isn't the Dowery what the Womans family pays you for her upkeep and comfort? What you are doing is buying a human being. That's often called Slavery.

Both families pay a it. Grainwad put 20,000 denars in and asked me to put 15,000 in.
I put 15,000 in and then he literally ran off across the border.

Sounds to me like Grainwad noped his way out of ur wedding AND kept ur money lol.

Elope her, and flip him the bird as you ride out of his castle on his horse.

the one time I eloped with a woman and met her dad, our relation suffered a whopping -20 or something, thank god he was not a king or something lol
