You tell me.

When you promote a companion to a lord, they start acting exactly like any other lord. In Native, all lords are male and, apart from personality, share their scripts. So when you are playing a female, you can marry any lord, including the female ones, i.e. the companions you promoted.

So, does it look like a bug to you, or not?

Kinda bigoted to assume that it's a bug rather than a feature.

You really do not get it, do you?

I am old enough, personally wealthy, and secure in my beliefs NOT to care what others think. As long as I believe that I am right, as long as I am comfortable with the way I feel, I do not care whether something is considered brave, commendable, despicable, etc. let alone something as trivial as bigoted.

And just as an aside that you do not have to believe, half a century ago, I got a medal for something I did. Then in the late 80s, I was dishonorably discharged for the same thing. Then in the 90s, the people I had dealt with got a monument. Then in the early 2000s, the monument was taken down, and my medal was once again entered on the rolls. Then a few years ago, I was given not only my old rank, but also promotions for the quarter century in between, and the respective pension. And the kicker? By doing this, by making me an officer again, they endangered my American citizen process, because you cannot apply while an officer in another country's military forces.

So, as far as I am concerned, all this name calling is just noise. This too shall pass.

If it was a feature males would be able to marry each other too.

Interesting story. Not that it's any of my business, but I assume you live in a country that was formerly part of the Soviet bloc?

Nope. It works for every female companion - Matheld, Klethi, Deshavi, Ymira, Katrin... as well as any male companion, of course. It's the same game logic.

Female players marry landowners, which Ymira can become.

Male players marry landowner's charges. In most mods with sons, all sons are gay.

It takes extra programming to let landowning females marry male players, and to let female companions marry male players. It also takes extra programming to allow male-male relationships.

But marrying female companions in Native is definitely unintended.

Yes, indeed, it happened in a former Soviet country. But I live in the United States now.

Between commies and religious extremists, which side do think was giving out medals?

And it was not really communists. In my country at least, the actual people who had been Communists when it was a automatic death sentence were actually at odds with the career politicians which we called apparatchiks.

Apparatchiks were immoral scum no different from career politicians anywhere.

The army was not all that different from armies elsewhere - happy to remain apolitical if allowed.

One thing I have learned in a life probably longer than yours, is that people everywhere are exactly the same, it's only the excuses for screwing each other that change. Communists, white supremacists, religious fanatics, social justice warriors, as well as those who mock them - they all grasp for an ideology that lets them feel superior and attack those who do not bow to them when it comes to resource appropriation.

But this is getting too much into politics. I won't talk more about it.

So are you saying that I would have to be female to marry Ymira? I already have found her as my male character, and I really dont want to have to go through the process of finding her on a new character and then all that jazz. Is there a way I can change my gender mid game?
