Visiting a Lady

I'm trying to visit a lady but the maid keeps telling me it's been too short a time since our last meeting. how long do I have to wait?

A week or so. You will get a notification and a new quest will pop up.

I'm not sure but for me, I figured out that waiting until I was summoned was the best way to go. That way you get a completed quest, increased relations and have the opportunity to recite poems, etc.

In Viking Conquest, I'll court many eligible maidens, often in the same castle. I show up for one who sent me a letter and everything goes smoothly. If I also visit with others, those meetings are pointless - it's a short exchange of pleasantries, no poetry, no relations gains, etc.

My advice would be to try being a bit less needy and desperate. Just do your thing as a warlord and make a point of stopping by the area where your lady is living from time to time. She'll send you a messenger telling you she wants to see you.

As I see it, stopping by unannounced is merely a way to get a particular lady off the rotation list of ladies who summon you, without blowing her off. You make no head way but you don't lose ground either...it's just sort of neutral.

Now how that list works is unclear to me. It's a bit of a chicken or an egg kind of thing - it's either triggered when you are in the area or I just alter my trade route to accomodate the list? Either way, my trade route is the same as my courting route...move around the map, sneaking into castles and buying wool along the way. It works the same way whether you are courting one lady or twenty of them.

I've heard rumours about getting a "Special Trait" for courting multiple maidens (in VC). It seems it was coded into the game but may or may not be available? I've been trying over the past few playthroughs and all I know for sure is that it is way more difficult than something like "Dungeon Master".

I've never gotten it, either, and I also tried for it a while back. I did get "Dungeon Master" without even knowing about it, so yes, the "Ladies Man" or whatever it is called is either buggy, or much harder to achieve.

no I just don't want to conquer anything yet, I'm just sitting around beating tournament after tournament trying to get really good stuff like cows.
