The Banner Saga 3

Favorite Banner Saga Character so far?
I'm just curious if people have a favorite character from any of the previous games.

It can be anyone you like, doesn't have to be the strongest or even a combat character.

For me, it's Yrsa. At first, I didn't like her much in TBS1, but her weird and cryptic demeanor grew on me by the end of the game.

She plays a smaller role in TBS2, but she makes a few appearances when burning things with fire really count, lol.

She's also a pretty key character in my lineup with her signature ability and a +break item allowing her to do massive break damage along with strength damage to keep enemy blades dulled.

Sure, she's not OP like sharpshooter Alette with a knockbacks item, but she's very respectable in her own right.

Krumr and his tales.

Hard to pick just one... I like most of the protagonists (Rook, Iver, Bolverk -- Alette not so much), and from the secondary ones I like Ubin, Oddleif, Krumr, Eyvind, Sparr (not too keen on Folka). The "meanies", Jorundr and Rugga, are also well made.

Personality wise or fighting wise?
For fighting idk, probably bolverk, Oli's Axe Storm is also a fun lottery.
For personality of course rugga.

Doesn't matter, just whoever you like lol.

I've never cared much for Juno, personally. I liked Nikels a lot, buuut we all know what happened there.

Poor little guy.

Combat-wise, Ekkil. I've done a few playthroughs with him and without him, and I definitely prefer playing with him. He's a surprisingly effective damage-dealer, outshining most of my Varl ('cept maybe Hakon), but can tank better than most of my Warhawks. Plus he's a pragmatic jerk, and I like that sort of character. Downside is you have to sacrifice Egil to keep him, and I'd really like it if both could coexist.

Character/story-wise, Ubin or Rook. Ubin is a badass bookworm, and I can't wait to see him BS3 since that stretch goal was reached.

Rook is just a broken guy by BS2, and desperately trying to keep himself and his clan together.

Iver hands (or arm) down.

I like Ekkil and Tryggvi for their cryptic characters.

Iver is awesome, Tryggvi is cool and even useful early in TBS1. Liked Olli in 2 because of his versatility and character design. I like Griss as kind of an odd pick for a good soldier character wise, also well rounded and versatile in battle. Thought Eirik was cool because even Ubin complimented him as "competent" when he joins Hakon's caravan (which was about as big of a compliment we saw a varl give a human!) And then in TBS2 Spinegrinder was such a cool additonal tool to add to an otherwise probably forgotten character at that point.

To be honest, probably easier to answer character's I didn't care for at all. Bersi never impressed me,

Ok I have to ask, no love for Aleo who I am assuming is your namesake? You even listed the other bard Sparr (who ranks pretty high on the characters I would like to grab a beer with list)

lol, I didn't even notice that, and now I'm curious about this as well.

Hehe, Aleo is indeed my namesake (and "facesake", minus the mohawk), but the character was already fixed, so it was only a re-skin. I think Sparr is a much enjoyable chap; Aleo is too flat :)

I like drunken skalds.

There's only one bard that got the caravan riled up into an orgy though!
