Desperatly seeking save editor info
A massive oversight on my part has threatened to ruin a complete Alette replay all the way from BS1. (TLDR at bottom)

I replayed this whole series when 3 came out. I've already done Rook to completion. On my Rook playthru I built an Iver that was an almost unhittable regenerating whirlwind of death. Naturally, I wanted to copy this Iver for the Alette version as I really dont care for those other heros in that part of the story anyway (am I the only one who thinks Folka sucks?) and just want my whirlwind Iver to wreck the warped.

So imagine my horror when I play my first Iver warped battle in Alette playthru and reach for my Tempest and find.....♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Forge Ahead. I must not have chosen his second talent in my Alette BS2 (I didnt focus on him because i was expecting him to autolevel to 8 and figured i could PICK the damn second skill. but it must autopick?)

Anyway I need to edit this because I dont have the patience to play all the way from BS2 when Iver leaves again. Any suggestions?

(TLDR: i need to switch Ivers forge ahead skill to tempest. is it possible?)

While there are no real save editors, you can "easily" edit your save by opening it with a text editor.

I imagine you will have to search for Iver and find the skill line for him. A more knowledgeable modder will most likely know.
I think it can be done.

Easy. Open your Resume save-file (JSON) w/ a text edit and search for
"id": "abl_forgeahead"
make sure it's under Iver's name and replace it with
"id": "abl_tempest"

Thanks so much. One slight hiccup: I can't seem to find this specific file. I'm looking in my steamapps/common/tbs3 folders, and i find a saves folder but its full of png pic files is all. i see lots of json files in other folders but nothing "save" looking.

EDIT: i found it. typical windows nonsense. it is of course in your C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\ folder, and you'll probably have to set it to show hidden files, because of course it makes sense to hide files from the user.

Correct! Good luck and do report back if everything works properly.

Helped me fix the same mistake. Had to type the path directly into file explorer. Thanks, all! Hakon has now realized his full potential.
