how do you upgrade standard to deluxe?

If you wish to upgrade Standard Edition of Assassin's Creed Brotherhood to Deluxe, you will need to purchase Deluxe version of the game and I am afraid there is no other way to do so.

If you really want to upgrade standart edition to deluxe: You should delete game from your account and then buy deluxe edition from second account (because if you buy brotherhood again from your main account they will send to you same key as you purshased for the first time) and then send a gift to your main account. I know this is pretty stupid :D but this is only way to upgrade it to deluxe. I did that :)

Does it even have any story important content or just side stuff like templar's treasure dungeons in AC2?

Side stuff, no story importat content.
Deluxe edition includes: 2 templar's dungeons - Aqueduct and Trajan Market (those missions are important for 100% completition); skin [assassinscreed.fandom.com] for Ezio - Helmschmied Drachen Armor; Game soundtrack; AC: Lineage (the live action film about Ezio father); Making of AC Brotherhood: Behind the brotherhood (Video); Two Multiplayer skins - The Officer and The Harlequin; Codex written by Altair (Book).

this is such a bummer. i tried refunding but steam denied because i bought it a while ago (+2 weeks) during a sale. I didnt fully check the dlcs but i thought i could just buy them later. but i apparently i cant.

AND you cant even buy deluxe edition when you have standard

Didn't you have any issues with Ubisoft Connect? I've launched the game once and now the game is registered there too

If you plan to do this... I forgot one thing you must delete brotherhood also from you ubisoft connect account and then all will be okay :)

Black flag also has the same problem as Brotherhood with upgrade from standard to deluxe and there is no deluxe content in the season pass, so be careful if you are going to buy it.

i bought deluxe from ubisoft store. support said it would be fine.

You can remove your game from Steam completely, try Steam support

This needs to get burried, locked or deleted as the DLC content is being removed yet we have a UBI person advising on how to waste your money.

100% accurate, that's all they care about, making us waste our money. I feel extremely bad for paying extra money for Assassin's Creed 3 Season Pass just a few months ago.
