You don't give us any details about how you're trying to download it (game? browser? logged in?
registered base game?) so I'll give some basic troubleshooting for it.

  1. First, go to www.thesims3.com in a web browser.

  2. SIgn in with your Sims 3/Origin account details (they should be the same).

  3. If you have not already, register your game (you cannot download Riverview without registering). You do this on My Page > My Account > Register a Game.

  4. Go to the Store page, and navigate to Worlds, then Riverview.

  5. Click the green "Download!" button for it.

  6. If it does not download, be sure that your browser is not blocking pop-ups. Be sure you click to allow your browser to start the Sims 3 Launcher.

  7. After it has downloaded, open the Launcher and click the Downloads button. There, tick Riverview and install it.

I tested downloading it this morning and it works.

If your problem is that the page hangs after you click "download," that happens sometimes. Keep refreshing and trying and it'll go through eventually.

Otherwise, cruinne was far more helpful than EA. Unfortunately, the game never bothers to tells us we should register our keys and if it does, it's very vague. You can also get a few free goodies from registering EPs, btw.

I heard that if you register your game with Origin, you can't play it through steam anymore. Is that true? I want Riverview but don't know if that's worth it :/

That is not true. All of my stuff is registered with thesims3.com (which is Origin) but I still use Steam. All it does is (1) give you a digital copy in your Origin library that you can use should you ever need to, (2) get you Riverview + some SimPoints to spend in the store.

However, you want to make sure that you don't accidentally install the Origin version while running Origin at some point - since they both use the same location for the user files, it can make a mess.
