Reduce Fan Noise?
Any other ways to reduce fan noise? I've already enabled triple buffering and limited fps to 60. Have a brand new computer and no other game is anywhere near this loud, including the recent Doom games, etc...

Make sure VSYNC is enabled in the Nvidia controlpanel, ingame VSYNC does not work.
It also helps to follow this guide https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1131162350

This guide helped me to get less lag and fix the stuttering. I guess it also helps to reduce the fan noise

Yeah did that - no effect. FPS is down to 60 - notice no change.

I moved the computer away from the corner of the room and further away from me - that helped a little bit. In the corner the sound bounces back off the walls.

It seems to me that when I'm in China (WA Expansion), the computer is a lot quieter - need to test that again.

The fan starts up even on the loading screens.

Clear the 5 cache files that are safe to clear after Every play session. Don't let too many things pile up in your Sims' inventories. I try to keep fruits and veggies below 30 each. Save Very frequently.

A lot less is happening in foreign locations. In your Sims' hometown, there are many other Sims doing many other things - starting relationships, getting married, going to work, having babies, driving their cars. There is weather and Autumn leaves and seasonal festivals, if you have the Seasons DLC. If you have the Pets DLC, there are tons of dogs and cats and horses. It all adds up.

Very useful thread. Thank you. I am having the same issues as the OP. My fan gets so loud sometimes I can hardly hear myself think. I thought at first my new PC I bought was a piece of junk for a gaming computer, but I am happy to hear that I am not alone with this issue.

I think they still sell graphics cards that are liquid cooled - I had one years ago and it was really quiet. If you can put the computer in another room that should help but you'll need bluetooth connections for mouse/keyboard. I don't know about the monitor, maybe they sell extension cables for the HDMI?
