Other lots are flawed too, but their issues are not usually as game-breaking.

This solution includes an already fixed up version of the world as a saved game all ready to play, together with pages of instructions for the Do It Yourself crowd as to what was done to make the world playable.

Delete the houseboats with the famelies, Have Nraas running etc.

Are those houses the only culprit?

The pathfinding is also a bit messed up. So you gotta also install the fan made patch for the world that I cant link too because im on mobile

Best you can do is install nraas ErrorTrap and Master Controller. The Sims 3 has stuttering, and there's no way to remove it entirely. The engine is jank, and that can't be changed unless it's rewritten from the ground up.

TS3 was too ambitious a game for the janky tech it was built on.

I found this one and I've downloaded it, but I can't figure out where the world file is supposed to go in the Steam version of the game. I've searched around, but I can only find it for the Origin version. Does anybody know?

EDIT: Never mind. I finally found it.

After a few generations I get severe lag on regular sim neighbourhood. Is there any fix for this? Plus did they make a better engine for Sims 4, or does that suffer the same problem after a while?

I'm not using any mods yet, so here is some of what I do:

I use sequentially-numbered saves. Whenever my game seems to be getting buggy or has severe lagging, I try finding a save from before the problem started. You can either keep reusing about 9 - 12 different save names, or you can purge old saves on a regular basis.

I make very frequent saves.

I've learned to clear excess baggage out of my Sims' inventories on a regular basis. If you have a gardener, it's easy to get way too much stuff in your inventory, and this causes a lot of lagging, and subsequent bugs. Keep the count of those apples and limes below 100 each. Under 30 is much better. Try to get to the point where you only have edibles of the same quality in each stack - like all Perfect apples, and all Perfect life fruit.

Don't collect or buy too much scrap for your inventors. Acquire what you need, and use it, then get more. A max of about 200 units per inventor table or Sim inventory is best for my Sims.

I don't allow tons of fish either. Either I sell them all, or keep only the ones that are of the same quality for the best garden fertilizer.

In general, the fewer details the game has to keep track of in your inventory, the better.

Don't go crazy with the fast-forward button. Using it too often can cause problems. If I'm using it for actions my Sim is doing, I will often pause it after a bit - do a save - and then continue.

Here is a good guide for improving the performance of the game.

RE: THE SIMS 4

The Sims 4 base game is not an open world game, like Sims 3. You start in a very tiny neighborhood, and to get to the park or the gym, you have to "travel" there (meaning you get a loading screen). There are no cars and you can't take a jog to a distant lake. Because of this modular design of the game, it generally runs smoother, with fewer bugs. Nevertheless, there are a number of people that start threads on the Discussions pages, saying they can't get the game to run, so I would advise that you take a look there before buying. If you have any trouble getting the game to run, you might want to refund it before the limits for doing so run out.
