take a look at minute 4:43. If you can't scout that tile adjectant to the wolf den because the enemy already got it, you might as well just reset :D
Did this aswell f the fame subdue her like a ggood little vassal! >:D
Sorry to hear my advice didn't help. It has been a while, since I've played it and back then it worked. Maybe mr.chrisslol1 can help with more info, if he did it more recently.
After I completed storyline missions on Extreme (and that was quite some time back), I decided not to play them anymore. As I'm not a really great with micromanaging and kiting, it simply was no fun for me to play those on extreme. And I play games to have fun. I can imagine with newer updates it proboboly got even more difficult on some missions. "Fun" fact: It took me one 340min game to win Chapter 3 on extreme. Victory was mine in August, year 29, lol
:D I'm with you on this one. 10 attempts in I threw it all out the window and just crushed her with Wolf Clan by 803 or 804. In general I figured no matter what AI enemy you face, their fight mechanism is not too great and will 99% get wiped by a decent army of 10 and some micromanagement. Except for Ox and Dragon lol, they are a nightmare in late game.
Using the same setup, I built an Altar of Kings (if you're at year 4 or 5 it really pays for itself), built an army of 8-10 axe throwers, made my way to Svarn's territory, and used mercs on the first tile bordering him, to soften up the enemy army. That worked. Also throw mercs on the enemy's food tile and wood tile but not so much that you actually conquer them, especially the food tile. It helps your economy a lot that you can grab 100 food there with little effort when you need it. Especially since you'll be supporting Svarn with 6-700 of each resource per year. If you haven't done so already, build a marketplace to be able to pick up any resource you may run out of.
After you've conquered the tile next to Svarn, your next goal is reaching the inland province with three military buildings. Keep throwing mercs at him where possible to keep his soldiers busy and to mess up his home territory. Once you've grabbed his military hub, throw mercs at his main tile and have them soften up his army. Throw mercs again on the same tile to keep his army busy and invade with your army to take out the tower. Then stab what's left of his army in the back.
Extreme difficulty in this game is designed to be near IMPOSSIBLE.
They probably made it only possible with certain clans or maps that must align perfectly to win. Even if you do get a favorable map, clan, or set up you must be perfect.
Knowing when to attack, defend, expand or upgrade must be all perfect.
Even if you can do your building perfectly the enemy clan, monster and weather event attacks always pushes the clan on its back foot.
Playing on extreme difficulty is like asking the entire clan to hop on one leg, use one hand and jump through fire hoops while executing all clan functions perfectly.
it was like 1500 to 1450 when i did it, but it was first try (and i probably was lucky)
otherwise, just go stag
Lots of skalds, lots of territory, lots of rushing, as I recall. I think i killed a wyvern, and I made sure that I discovered all the wyverns, but I didn't kill the giants.
Way easier to just kill her.
