Choppy cutscene audio / missing voice over

Is anyone else getting this? I tried setting it to 30FPS since the game mentions it could cause audio issues, but I'm still not getting any voiced lines from Morte.

Manually installed oalinst.exe from game folder (with admin priv.) and it get back voices for me. Intro still has some minor audio problems.

Or not. But i found another solution - set game to 30fps and restart it.

Damn it, voices still misses after 20-30 clicks or 1 minute after started the game. Oh, well...

As always - problem with my Sound Blaster Titanium X-Fi card :( Switched to onboard realtek and it seems fine. I hope.

Just found out the fix! There it is With openAL_soft.exe (Put it into your Planescape Torment enhanced edition directory and execute it there)

I am having this same problem. Also have an X-Fi Titanium. I get no voice overs after any character says 1 line. Installing software open al from the link above kills sound entirely for me. Thinking of just chucking this PoS soundcard, been garbage from day 1 really =/

The problem with creative labs sound cards is because MS killed their EAX tech, now the cards are nothing but average at best. I used to own a few sound blaster cards, but not now, they aren't worth the trouble. Which is a shame, as their EAX tech really shined in games that supported it.

Did Beamdog ever fix this problem? I also have an X-Fi Titanium card, and the linked "openal_soft" file also kills the sound entirely for me, as with Inoss.

I really recommend to post about this problem at support.baldursgate.com , - you'll get advice and help from our QA and it might help you solve the issue.

It seems to be a problem that is universal to all players with this sound card. So it would need a general fix. I might try support like you suggested, but honestly I don't want to go through the whole process of them asking me to update my drivers, update Windows, install OpenAL, check sound settings, etc. etc.... when it seems obvious this is an issue with the game and not with my PC.

I have the original game on disc and GOG, and the sound in that release still works just fine, plus I can still get the EAX enhanced effects in that one. So I don't think it's worth the trouble of dealing with Beamdog support.
