I'm gonna say yes, because the IE engine, although it can support higher frames, it will just speed the game up a percentage equal to the aditional frames. If you played BG:EE at 60 FPS, the game would be 2x faster. It would be like playing in fastforward.

Judging from the trailer, it appears that it's 30FPS which in my opinion is perfectly fine for such an old, 2D sprite based title.

I always found the infinity engine games best played at about 36-38 FPS. Its not too much faster, but smoother.

If people start whining about FPS when it comes to this masterpiece, I'm going to be a tad cross.

(Which is only slightly less irritated than "bloody annoyed".)

I always bumped up the FPS to 45 in the BG games, it just handles smoother and the walk speed is not infuriatingly low that way. Never felt that way with Torment, maybe because the view was closer to the ground?

Did not like BG1 or 2 at 60, made me think of Benny Hill/yakety sax at that speed for some reason.

no you can adjust the FPS lock between 30 and 45

There is no conceivable way it would make the game run any better at 60 fps. It wouldn't matter if it was at 20 for this game. For christ sake, if you've ever played Diablo 2, that is CAPPED at 20 FPS. Bet you never noticed either.

Walk speeds and animations are tied to the frame rate, so at the very least you move faster if there is a higher framerate. That can be a benefit.

[Framerate adjustment options // The framerate in original PST was locked to 30 fps]

Doesn't specify how exactly it is changed, I know that I manually changed Icewind/BG enchanced to 45 myself for a less choppy yet non ultraspeed sweetspot.

You can adjust a slider under 'Gameplay' options. Choices are 30 (original) 40 (enhanced) 50 (fast).

For an isometric RPG, as long as FPS is 30+, it's fine.

But yes, in general, 60 FPS should be the standard, but not all beneft greatly from having it be higher.

For character sprites - depends. For UI - nope.

What s whole point of "remaster", if it wont get such important feature? What s point of adding modern resolution support, if every modern monitor has 60 or ever 144 Hz (so - 30fps game will feel terrible)?

Point is, if you care about graphics above other things, this simply isn't a game for you. Hell, it doesn't even have impressive combat animations because combat itself is largely optional.

If you want to enjoy this one at least a little, you should prepare to read. And you'll be reading a whole lot.

I know, what this game is. Its fun, that you are writing me about reading, while you didnt ever read my post.

I didnt say "this gaem sux, coz its 30 fps locked", but "what s point of making remaster, if they cant unlock framerate? (or, atleast, increase cap to 60)". Coz all, I see here, is just your Planescape, you can buy already on GoG, but with blurred sprites (which, as beamdog believe, should make em look "HD") and increased in twice price tag

And I'll again say that if you are going to fixate on the framerate, there are thousands of other games you're going to enjoy, while Torment isn't the game for you, even if it had 144FPS.

If this is a deal-breaker for you at this particular game, well...guess you won't be buying it? And that's...for some reason very important...?

Just go back and re-read 1st post again. Its "is this game fps locked?" thread. Not "HEY GUYS, I WONT BUY THIS GAEM", but "is there 30 fps lock?".
Yes, its important to hear answer on your question (that whole point of asking questions). Yes, for some people, knowledge about framerate lock is important (so - since this thread exist, nobody, who can use search, will spawn similar questions anymore). Yes, its dealbreaker. So what?
