How to kill the first boss

Title says it all. How did you people manage to kill the first boss? The "snake" on top of the hill. Please help!

pick up rock throw rock against him after he try to body slam you

Actually I have found that you have to hit his head with rocks to do damage.

It's really quite poorly done this one. Your movement speed is really quite slow, a little slow. You need to make sure you have a rock in your hand all the time. Then as soon as it pops up, move in the direction it's going to land to hit it in the head. It was frustrating.

i just spent an hour trying to lure it into whacking its head into the red spikes..i thought the runes had something to do with it. like the order i need him to pop up in to get him toi kill himself..
and i just need to throw rocks..
FFS a LITTLE guidance on what we are meant to do wouldnt hurt..

BTW anyone reading this, i just did it and you have to throw at his face. the back and side of his head do nothing..
