Controller Not Working

My logitech xinput controller stopped working 5 minutes into the game. I don't understand. I've tried everything but I can only use my keyboard to move my character now. The controller works for other games so it's not the controller's fault.

This is a common problem, there's nothing you can do. I had to refund the game. Not a single controller I owned would work for more than 5 minutes.

I've actually fixed it already. I just restarted my PC and voila, worked.

I have a fix. deactivate the steam overlay for this game and the controller works fine

Is it the steam overlay that does it?

My controller won't work at all if I disable the Steam overlay.

One fix is to go into the God Eater install folder and reinstall/repair the 2013 vcredist, you have to restart your computer but it works for me. It's not a permanent thing though, if I close the game and try to play again after, my controller stops working and I have to do it all over again.

Same problem, with the Xbox 360 Controller.

Was working fine for a week, now it doesn't work.

I have crap controller that i don't even know the name of its producer. Most games doesn't read its input. But when i install x360ce mod, every game works perfect with pad. No delay, correct input. In God Eater Resurrection you should have 32 bit version of this program. The installation is as simple as five mouse clicks. I use steam overlay any time i want, i minimize the game anytime i want, no problems at all. Try it.

My controller stopped working yesterday after the patch and the pc reboot corrected it.

The problem happens when the controller shuts off during gameplay. The solution is to sign off windows and sign back in (full restart isn't needed), and only play with the controller plugged in (to prevent shutting off).

You can use Special K to fix this. I have a fix specifically for this game and Watch_Dogs2 to prevent them from bugging out when an XInput controller is disconnected.

The option to do this is under Input Management | Gamepad | XInput Placeholders. Set Placeholder #0 to enabled.

It really sucks that this has to be done, but this is the 3rd game I've encountered with the problem in the past year.
