Accidentally-spent gems
So I'm pretty sure I spent some gems by accident when buying gifts or paying for dates. Is there a way for me to check how many gems I should have? I've got 36 now, and I think I used to have 40.

I guess I could count achievements? Which ones give gems, exactly?

This brings to mind a couple of suggestions, as well as a question I think I know the answer to:

  1. Suggestion: It would be nice to have some kind of log or something that shows us what we've spent gems on.

  2. Suggestion: I feel there should be some kind of confirmation for gem purchases; misclicks are far too dangerous.

  3. Question: If I did spend those gems accidentally, there's no way for me to get them back, is there?

Hey Elegant Caveman.

There should be a purchase confirmation on all gem purchases. But I say "should", because I can't say with 100% certainty. I'll look into this today.

There's currently no in-game refund option.

I'll chat with the team about your ideas though. Obviously we want you to be very happy with your gem purchases. It's the longterm life source for the game.

It's theoretically possible that there was a confirmation but I missed it. I'm having troubles with my mouse, and sometimes it'll double-click when I single-click. So if the "ok" button for the confirmation is at the same location on the screen as the button to buy the gift/date, it's possible that it would double-click and "skip" the confirmation.

I seem to recall reading that each new achievement/relationship boost with a girl (save for the first and last) give one gem, is this correct?

I have 46 achievements from relationship levels (none of them lovers) with 8 girls, so if the first one doesn't give a gem, I should have 38, which would mean I'm missing 2. I seem to recall that I had 40, though, so now I'm even more confused.

I think it's frightening to see the second "Pay" button, especially when spamming a date...
And it's not the kind of game I want to be frightened in...

Completely agree.

I'd almost go so far as to say that I think the option to pay for gifts/dates with gems should be removed; it's a terrible use of gems.

Agreed, if anything people would rather spend gems on multipliers and such not small gifts

To be honest, it would be appreciated if we couldn't even use the diamonds... Diamond should BE boosts. Like collectibles boosts. You own it, you're faster. No need to buy anything.
(as for the time blocks and skips, it could be bought with money directly)

Well, I like the idea of gems as a currency, since it lets you choose what kind of reward you want.

Right now, boosts are the best thing to spend gems on, but I admit I'm tempted by extra time slots. And if/when devs add more things to spend gems on, this will become even more true.

Generally speaking, I approve of anything that fosters player agency, even if it's just something as simple as letting us choose what rewards we want, exactly.

It's just that spending them on gifts or dates is a ridiculous use for them. If someone has too many gems and wants to waste them, at least spend them on time warps.

only use diamonds for speed boost. one x2, one x8, one x16. that will get you 256 and it will make your skills fly.

if you screw it up, just restart the game. that's what i did when i realized i put the diamonds in the wrong spot. doesn't take long to get back on track.

Accidentally bought 4 bars when I was only 3 gems away from the x64 I'd been saving up for. I'm loading up a save from a few hours back, but that still sucks. Please get those confirmation popups in as soon as you can.

Edit: Just to be clear, that's the window when you click on a job and you don't have enough time bars for it, and an option comes up to buy the time bars with diamonds. If you click yes there, there's no second confirmation ask. Also, the popup there doesn't take bulk discounts into account, so 4 time bars that way costs 40 diamonds, rather than getting 5 time bars for 40 diamonds on the shop menu.

I don't need to explain gaming basics, do I?
SAVE!
Save every time you are going to close the game. Use both save slots if you have to. Backup-backup-backup.
The game is in a testing state. .....
And you're bound to make mistakes at some point as well.

You could always hit the Full Reset button and start over completely, but before that is necessary to fix your mistakes, make sure you don't get that far in the first place.

Endlessly save your games. Ignore the save-count. (there is none in this case.) The more you save, the better.

Elucidator I only save when I'm quitting a game. I like to live dangerously. >:3

I also accidentally bought more time blocks from not having enough for a date and without thinking clicked the big button which I think could definitely use a confirmation because it was literally a split second mis-click that I immidiately went "wait no!" but alas my fingers were faster than my brain.

Right, but part of this being a beta is suggesting interface improvements, and having a confirmation before you spend the game's limited/pay currency is definitely something that needs to go in before release.

When you click on something and you have the option to pay with gems you really need to implement a secondary confirm button asking whether you really want to spend the gems, because is really easy to miss click and lose a lot of your gems for something you did not want.

This just happened to me wasting 20 gems on a miss click, luckily I had a save file so I only lost a few hours of game progress by loading it up, but still really annoying that I wasted my time because of a miss click.

Please consider implementing this option, or put in ability to reverse a gem purchase within 30sec-1min of it.
