Yun or Yang for a beginner
Hi guys so I only played Ryu since I started the game and as far as I like his moves I want to invest a lot of time in learning a character I like and I tested some of them. I wonder if Yun is a good starting character or Yang maybe. And if so which of those 2 is easier to learn and to play?

They are both totally different to play and I would not consider them as "easy" characters (Ryu Ken comes to mind). But if I have to choose one, it will be Yun because of he is more straight forward and his dp kick is great for beginners to mash. Yang requires mix ups and resets to be effective as his damage is quite low.

I agree with Yun being the easier of the twins to learn. He doesn't have 1 frame links for his bnb combos and he has a pretty easy way to land his ultra because st.mp, shoulder, red focus is such a good confirm and poke string. However one thing Yang has over Yun is that you can FADC his DP.

I think both are great for learning proper execution, with some pretty long but not very difficult Combos.

Alright I started learning Yun and I'm enjoying it so far. Those combos are pretty insane.

Wow awesome video but I will never be this level haha. I already have troubles doing the basic combo cr lk st lp st lp st md into upkick (it's the dragon punch move), what would be the best way to do the upkick move? im pressing down forward 2 times but it doesn't come every time.

I just hold forward during the st. mp and then finish the DP motion by doing d,df, kick.

Thanks Mash Drive I have it now, but I just have another problem now. I am now consistently doing my bnb combo and was pretty happy about that...until I put the training ia on block all except first attack and realised my combo isn't one at all... there is gaps between my moves and so I am being blocked before finishing the combo. I wonder should I keep mashing buttons like I do for the combo and that means I'm not fast enough or is there an exact timing to have? Last question I saw on a Yun tutorial a combo starting with cr mp cr mp etc... but doesn't matter how fast i press the mp the two hits will not combo so I assume there is a timing to get right? Sorry for all the questions this is my 1st fighting game and wasn't expecting it to be that hard to learn.

Mashing is not good in this game because you have to time your hits. Most of Yun's bnb combos are 2 frame links which means you have a 2/60th of a second window to hit the button for it to combo. If you look up how to plink, you can add an extra frame to that window making it 3 instead of 2.
