Well, I helped a guy by doing this:

1. - http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?xlive Download the file
** There is no kind of virus on the file you're about to download **

2. - Now un-install the game from your computer.
Right click on Dead Rising 2 and " Delete Local Content "

3. - Install the game
And you should be able to play it without any problems.

This is the guy I helped -

Cool. I saw that somewhere randomly while searching for a fix for Dark Souls and just wanted to share. Don't actually own Dead Rising 2 on Steam but I feel everybody's pain regarding Games for Windows Live :-P

LOL @ Bubble Squad. And yes I ran into this also.
I simple uninstalled LIVE. And downloaded this full installer and rebooted.
After that everything worked.

Hope this link helps others. And if they take it down you need to contact MS.

THIS IS A FULL INSTALLER. Not the web installer as it will not download the correct files.
This is for Windows 8.

Crapcom has little or no excuse for leaving their customers like this.
