Easiest way to think of this screen is each arrow adds a +10 (or subtracts 10).
So if you have a dupe who has double up arrows on Tidy, and you set the egg itself to 9 (or top, which is 10), then it has a priority of 29. It will be done immediately. Same thing if you have a dupe with double up arrows on Storage and you set the storage bin in the stable to 9 or top.
But if all of your dups have tidy and storage set to 0, then setting that egg to 9 or top means it is only a 9 or 10 in the list of jobs to do. A dupe who has 0 on tidy and storage and 1 up arrow on dig is going to do all dig tasks before it moves on to the egg.
Thing is though that shouldn't be the factor at all once you "Top Priority" something. Dupes are suppose to immediately drop everything and do that one specific thing like their life depends on it - even if they have to skip downtime and sleep to do it.
They aren't picking the egg up at all though since the update. It leads me to believe there's a bug (or I require wrangling - my wrangler died).
The update was only a day ago.
