Long term, you will probably want to switch to a boiling setup to handle both the sanitizing and the filtering as a single process, instead of blowing through Sand using the Water Purifier. Polluted Water turns into Steam and Dirt when you boil it, and the Steam will condence into clean Water. Because it is boiled, it is well beyond the survivable range for Food Poisoning, so the Water will also be sanitary.
I've found this boiler design on the official forums. Haven't built it yet, but it looks very interesting.
https://forums.kleientertainment.com/topic/82779-updated-the-compact-supercharged-10kgs-distiller/
it aslo work well for bigger tank but it's a bit slower
huge electrical (noticeably on colony start) cost but that's pretty fair seeing the result it can provide in term of amount of water cleaned cycle, volume, pipe feeding and all
what i don't like much with this awesome design, in my own way of managing my colony, for the 9900 10k output is it's electrical pump cost, i believe you can get better "electrical cost"/"waters production" second than this compact extreme design productivity amount oriented imho
to me it's sort of a choice with extreme compact but electrical cost mid average efficiency and production ratio rentability, while this compact design open some interesting path as well for baking and all
anyway awesome awesome showcase like some many others across the various forums, kinda advanced & very very interesting heat echanges and else related
