Black screen at start up
After clicking the "Rogue Squadron 3D" in the launcher the screen goes black. Any ideas how to fix this?

I'm using Windows 10 64-bit, Nvidia Geforce 970.

I had this with the GOG version, but the fix for that was downloading from the website instead of via Galaxy.
Hopefully someone can help you out with the Steam version.

mine goes black after the sector 5 logo but i can also still hear the menu music. i found the disc a few months ago and it does the exact same thing. figured steam would do it better.

Win 10, GTX 970. Similar issue. I try to run it, goes fullscreen. Goes black, see my cursor change for a split second into what looks like a glove, and then it says the game has stopped working.
same issue as above

It looks like I found a solution to my problem. I have 2 hard drives, My SSD (C:) and a regular HDD (E:). It seems to be an issue with the game running from the E: Drive. I decided to install the game on my SSD and it works perfectly.

From what a I read around GOG, it looks like the game has issues when running from a directory path that is too long. Perhaps the extra folder in my E drive's path (Steam\SteamLibrary vs just Steam) was a little too long for it to run correctly.

same issue, but with an 980ti, but I did install this on my C:\ drive, and still no luck.
ediit: I just tried installing on an alternate drive, and the problem persists. Also, this game works just fine on my laptop that has a 640M.
edit 2: I found this solution on another thread that worked for me:

steamapps > common > Rogue Squadron > Right click .exe > Properties > Compatibility > Disable display scaling on high DPI settings

Did they fix the black screen on the title screen?
I tried to play the game on my current PC about a year ago, and it black screened at the title screen. A little Googling told me it was because the game crashes on newer NVidia cards. (More specifically, my GTX 650 TI Boost.) Is that fixed?

Found a fix for my issue as well. Turns out the game did not like both my Xbox One Controller and G920 Wheel controller plugged in at the same time. I unplugged the wheel and the game starts up fine now.

I had the same problem, but the GOG website said to make sure all of your drivers are up-to-date, so I updated my drivers at the Intel website. Now it works perfectly. Hope it helps.
