this aint the first game where kissing your girlfriend is a game mechanic (kirby, scott pilgrim, and yakuza 7 did it before) but this is definitely the most in depth and strategic implementation of the concept

Edit: the review above was written after having played the first few hours and I simply saw it as a cute little gay game I could kill some time with while recovering from covid during the holidays. However, the more I played the game, the more it set in that it's more than just a neato novelty....


This feels like the exact game I've always wanted to play even if I didn't realize it. Like, it feels like if someone peered into my mind and made a game specifically for me. I never played the MLP game it's based on and I never heard about it or its creator before playing, I just saw the title on Twitter after it came out and went "I'm sold." It's like the stars aligned perfectly to cap off an otherwise pretty meh year for me in the most extraordinarily blissful way possible.

If the game's art, premise, or hell, even a single word in the title appeals to you, you owe this game a shot. I could go into greater depth about how the combat is fun, the characters are all loveable, and the music is fantastic, but I really can't do it justice. The feelings instilled by this game are simply too incredible and pure for me to sufficiently communicate, it simply must be experienced firsthand. Even if you aren't gay, trans, or a furry, there's still plenty to enjoy if all you want is a fun, wonderfully designed, smoothly paced, and tightly balanced RPG.
