Tell me your PC specs, it's possible you don't have enough RAM
Thats how the game is for me, it could be ram as i am using 32 bit so im my ram is limited.

Lower your graphic settings

I used to have this exact issue, all I did was un-install/re-install fixed everything for me. game starts up in about a minute.

I'm thinking you've unticked an LOD box. That would explain very long waits.

Win 7 64bit with 4GB Ram. I tried to lower my graphix but its not better... LOD box? What's that XD?

verify integrity of game cache then -noprefetch

-noprefetch is not working :/. i think a reinstall would not help cuz i have the same problem with every stalker part...

I've been having the same problem. -noprefetch hasn't worked, and reinstallation hasn't worked. I'm getting the same long loads; even on the lowest graphic settings. Anyone figure out a solution?

For me it was a ram issue. I went from 6 to 8 in ram and now the load times are like 20 seconds.

mate this game is running on an unfinished engine, the loading time is so large because once again. unfinished engine. a few mods will fix it but its just what you gotta put up with on the game.

First, I disabled Program Compatibility Assistant Service by doing start->services.msc (in search box)-> scrolled down until I saw it-> and disabled under properties.

Second, I created a desktop shortcut and added -nointro -noprefetch to the target parameter (under properties). So it looks like "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\stalker shadow of chernobyl\bin\XR_3DA.exe" -nointro -noprefetch

That's it. It downed my loading time from 15-20 minutes to 1 minute max.

long loading is common with many mods even more..more Ram, faster HDD is a good idea,, defrag your HDD too. long loading can be reduce by lowering the textures and/or the renderer, too.

This is one of them things that I have heard of but, have never suffered with, it loads in seconds and runs smooth as a hot knife through butter, its not everyone that has this problem in fact far from it.

Lots of mods out and about that speed things up, just search and you shall find.
